We will meet up for breakfast in the bee yard. Enjoy fresh fruit, home made biscuits and some delicious honey from our hives while we discuss the amazing world of the honeybee. After breakfast, we'll don protective clothing and get an up close and personal tour of a beehive or two in one of our urban apiaries. Remember that bees can sting. Honeybees only sting when they feel threatened. Guests are Never put in a place where bees will feel this way, but they are animals and do as they will. Wear light-colored clothing and follow the directions of the beekeepers.

Head veils are provided to keep the bees away from your face. Honeybees are usually calm but can sting. If thee are concerns for stings it is recommended to wear long pants and light colored long sleeve shirt (this is often unnecessary)

Commonwealth Bee Company operates apiaries in residential backyards, community gardens, and city rooftops over some of Arlington's amazing businesses, restaurants, and breweries. We will visit our urban bee yard and explore some of our bee hives
