O que você fará

Upon arrival, you will complete a series of warm up stretches.  As a group, we will rotate through a set of mobility drills, to get our hearts pumping and muscles warmed up! Then, Matt splits the bootcamp crew into groups for the “main” portion of the workout.  Each group has an amount of time to complete as many sets (with time to rest in-between) of the exercises of that particular group.  Once time is up, the groups will rotate to the next group of exercises. The exercises change weekly, and follow a theme such as Single-Limb drills, Upper Body exercises, or a combination of Abs & Glutes (affectionately called “Guts & Butts").  Having trouble with a particular exercise?  Matt Prez will adjust the drill so you can still put the work in.     Finally, the crew will come together to take part in a “final circuit”.  Around the gym, there will be several stations.  Each station has one specific exercise.  The goal is to complete a number of repetitions of that station in 40 seconds.  It could be something as simple as Bicep Curls or hitting a Punching Bag.  Each person will rotate through all stations, until the whole circuit is completed.  Then, the group comes together to perform a quick cooldown.    There is also weekly trivia Matt incorporates into the bootcamp, with one number-based question.  Whoever answers the closest wins a free protein bar or shake!

After 25 years of working at a desk, I decided to get healthier. It began with a two big lifestyle changes: 1) changing my nutrition intake to a mostly plant-based diet of highly nutrient-dense food and 2) increasing physical activity with strength coach Matt Prez.   One of my favorite weekly activities is Matt’s Fitness Bootcamp, every Saturday morning at both 7am and 8am. With his degree in Kinesiology and 6 years of coaching clients, Matt designs a killer 60 minute experience which covers all the bases of fitness for a fun and engaging workout.  No matter what your current fitness level is –bootcamp is designed to accommodate nearly everyone, with the ability to push you’re to that next level. Oh, and if you like a little competition, we have weekly trivia questions and protein prizes, too!

Our gym isn't fancy, but it has everything you'll need for a great workout, from free weights, ropes and bands, to kettle bells to balance and medicine balls. Ask Matt about the "Dice Game", to find out how he makes sure we get our money's worth from each excercise! We will send directions upon reservation.
