“Peixinhos da horta,” or “little fish from the garden,” reflects the beauty of Portuguese nature and all it has to offer. It’s a delicious and easy-to-make vegetarian dish that is beloved by all. This recipe can be accompanied in many ways, and I will share his secrets with you in order to have different ideas for your healthy and creative meals.

As soon as you book you will receive a message with the quantities of all the ingredients and equipment needed for this experience.

After we’ve prepared this tasty dish, we’ll sit down and share a meal while toasting to life. We’ll talk more about Portugal, sustainability, and how we can all live more in harmony with nature and our planet.

Although I usually say I’m a citizen of the world, my Portuguese roots have always grounded me, from being born and to spending my childhood in Mozambique, a Portuguese colony. After studying Graphic Arts in Barcelona, I came to Lisbon to continue my studies, but i've discovered my passion for Portuguese & world gastronomy. So in the meantime I wanted to invest in my passion for alimentation.

As a foodie and certified nutritionist, I love cooking and sharing my knowledge for good and sustainable nutrition in communion with the rest of the world, through the experiences I receive https://www.airbnb.pt/experiences/359879, focusing on food history and culture, especially Portuguese.

In this situation the world is going through, this choice has never made so much sense. Eating well and correctly has very positive benefits.

Katija was a wonderful host! Her appetizer cooking experience was a great way to get a feel for Portuguese food and flavours. Easy and fun meal and lots of great tips on how to prevent waste and utilize all your ingredients. I recommend this show to anyone looking to explore cuisines around the world or has an interest in sustainable living.

SO FUN! What a treat, especially during the pandemic! Katija showed us how to make a delicious tempura and explained the steps in such a way that even my 6yo daughter had fun participating. My family lives all over the US and we were able to come together and share this experience of sharing a meal and learning something new. Thank you, Katija!

We learned how to make a delicious lemon batter to fry vegetables and fish etc. Katiya told us about growing up in a Portuguese colony and showed us her neighborhood near Lisbon.

This was really fun. An advantage for a Zoom cooking class is that using our own equipment in our own equipment means that we will be able to easily recreate this recipe again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my cooking with Katija. I felt like I was cooking with a friend. She has a friendly, worldly outlook and we connected instantly. She offered interesting insights about the recipe including its history. I was well prepared in terms of the ingredients and the recipe was simple yet very tasty. In fact, I will keep it as a staple appetizer when I host friends. I learned about Lisbon and Portuguese history while we were cooking. It was an immersive delightful experience that I highly recommend.
