O que você fará

Enjoy body rafting and caving in a private natural reserve.

Enjoy a beautiful hike through the mountains, visit a spectacular river cave and practice Body Rafting™ among towering canyons in a private nature reserve located in the mountainous Northwest Puerto Rico.
You will be hosted by passionate interpreters at a traditional mountain cottage. After being outfitted with life vests and helmets, you'll hike through native bush, appreciate wildlife and explore the fascinating landscape of this area, which was the Atlantic Ocean floor.
Then, a magical pause. Lay down in the ground keeping a safe physical distance, and appreciate silence while listening to birds and learning about the biodiversity of the jungle.
Next, you will traverse a huge open water cave and learn fascinating stories of the Taíno Indian culture. See how water has sculpted these beautiful limestone caverns throughout history.
Then, go Body Rafting™, our unique way to float downstream among the towering canyons fed by underground springs.
Back at the cottage, relax and enjoy sipping local beer or beverages, while looking at memorable photos taken by your hosts, your new friends :)
Note: Your safety and health are our priority. We are taking extra care and precautions to safeguard the health of our guests. We always wear face masks, observe social distancing guidelines, and strictly follow regulations. For any questions, please contact me at any time. Stay safe! Mimi

As Nature lover and scientist I spent 7 years surveying the geohydrology of Tanamá cave system. I created a fun way to explore the river. Wearing life vest, knee pads and helmet, I floated downstream while enjoying the amazing view of the canyons. I named it Body Rafting. It’s safe; unique. I created a nature reserve and founded Puerto Rico Rescue & Outdoors School to educate Nature interpreters certified as first responders. We are proud of our unparalleled safety record: you are in best hands. If I'm unable to host you, Gaby, Kelly, Mayra, Carla or Juan will. They are the most amazing hosts.

This experience with Mimi was AWESOME and our group would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience the rainforest of Puerto Rico. Mimi greeted us at a public location in San Juan and we were transported to Arecibo for the experience. Immediately, she had great energy so we knew it would be a good day. In Arecibo, we spent some time at the beautiful casita before hiking down to the river. The experience is a combination of hiking and body rafting. We learned that Mimi’s company invented body rafting, so you really will not be able to do this anywhere else. The river was picturesque and our tour group was the only ones down there so it was very private and far from the crowds of el yunque. Unlike other guided hikes, I felt like our group could not have done this on our own and it was worth the extra money to have the unique experience of body rafting. In addition to the actual activity, the guides were very experienced and knowledgeable about the biodiversity and geological history of the area. It really enhanced the experience to get away from the city and learn about a more rural area of the island. Our guides were able to tell us about many of the plant and animal species that we encountered and also about the indigenous people of Puerto Rico. The guides also take pictures of your group in the prettiest parts of the hike and send them to you the day after the experience, which is a really nice touch that is included in the experience. When the rafting was over, we hiked back up to the casita and were treated to sandwiches, drinks, and an incredible view of the mountains before being transported back to San Juan. Ultimately, we would highly recommend this experience!

Super fun and bumpy ride! The hike was beautiful and the guide was super helpful! I loved every bit of it! Body rafting isn't something you can do everywhere but it sure is worth it! The caves are definitely a site to see as well.

What a cool experience! Definitely was a once in a lifetime activity that can only be done in Puerto Rico. The scenery is incredible and the body rafting was so unique. The guides were excellent, they really cared for all of the guests and knew a lot about the history of the area and Puerto Rico. Highly recommend this activity for adventurers! The hiking was not too difficult, but it is steep in certain areas and you do have to repel down with a harness and rope at one point. The water is cold - dress warm - wet suit if you have one!

The trip was a lot of fun and definitely off of the Beaten path. The area we explored was unique and beautiful. As for the hike I would have enjoyed something longer but it was still fun. The area you hike in has very slippery footing but one family had a 9 year old and she didn't have any difficulties on the hike.
