O que você fará

After meeting ourselves and introducing myself at your Airbnb (Manuel Antonio-Quepos area ONLY), your adventure begins on our journey to the national park entrance. As a naturalist tour guide, I will introduce and describe to you the local flora and fauna you will see during our nature experience, explaining and educating you on what makes Costa Rica such a diverse part of the world.

As a "Spotter Tour Guide in the field" Not a "Follower Guide" my experience is exclusively designed for very SMALL GROUPS in mind (4 PEOPLE MAX), or FULLY PRIVATE. I will do my very best to avoid the classic large noise tour operators and large crowds, as we find our way through a beautifully preserved park, you will find yourself next to monkeys, sloths, iguanas and a variety of tropical birds! We encourage any and all questions you have throughout the activity.

Want to snap photos of the animals you see on the hike? I will personally help you take professional-quality photos and HD videos using your cell phone or handheld camera. What makes any of my nature experiences so unique is the use of new BTX Swarovski spotting scope to get up-close views of all the wildlife (I invite you to check out my prior guest photo gallery)

I guarantee you won’t leave the park without an everlasting memory of the natural beauty of Costa Rica. (Manuel Antonio National Park it's CLOSED on Mondays)

A great naturalist tour guide should have a solid knowledge of the history of the land, culture, and traditions, I am proud to be certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board I.C.T. (Lic #124) and 100% Tico who strongly believes preservation, conservation, and environmental education are the highest priority, so generations to come may also enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. I have taken extensive courses related to being a naturalist guide, natural history, ecology, and conservation, etc.
My studies have ensured I can offer an educational and informative nature experience around my beautiful country. Pura Vida!

Manuel is a very thorough and experienced guide. He took time to explain a lot of new ecological terms and made us aware of the endemic species of Costa Rica. His love and passion for his work is truly outstanding. I really appreciated every moment throughout the experience. Highly recommend going on a tour with Manuel! Pura Vida!

Manuel is an excellent guide! He is highly knowledgeable and is an expert at spotting animals that are well hidden. We saw howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, two different types of sloths, bats, and frogs. In addition, he pointed out many different types of flowers, insects, and trees. I learned a lot about the history of the national park and Costa Rica's push for sustainability and eco tourism. Lunch was provided after the tour and it was delicious. Manuel was prompt, professional, organized, and highly qualified. I would definitely book another tour with Manuel in the future!

Good points: tour well organized for a small group (4 people) which was nice. Pick-up at our place, almost 4 hours tour, restaurant and way back to the hotel perfectly organized. Manuel gave us interesting information regarding the trees and natural species. We saw some monkeys, 2 sloths sleeping (so we didn't see them so well), birds, iguana, ... Nice pictures taken by Manuel send to us at the end. Some deceptions: on the description Manuel says he won't follow the common touristic paths, and the true is you are not allowed to go out the trails, so we did follow the paths like any other tourist. Unfortunately we understood something else from the announcement in Airbnb. The rate is quite expensive. There are plenty other guides at the entrance (I don't know their rates) that seemed legitimate too. Anyway, we all follow the same tracks and guides were giving advices to each other on where were the animals. So make your own choice! Last but not least, Manuel told us he will receive some calls from colleagues and apologized. Indeed, he answered many little phone calls. And it feels like he was more a businessman than a naturalist guide. Sorry but it is really how we feel it.

This was a wonderful experience. It was great to be able to be picked up at our hotel and then go into the park as a small group. We saw so many birds, animals & insects that we would not have seen without Manuel's experienced eyes and scope. Being part of such a small group meant we were able to see more as well as there was never a queue to look in the scope. Manuel had the time to answer our questions and show us small details we would have missed as part of a crowd. The lunch afterwards was great - with a great view of the beach.

Having Manuel as a guide was essential for our trip to Manuel Antonio Park. We would've missed almost all the animals if it wasn't for his sharp eye. He also got us amazing pictures and videos through his scope. We wanted to enter the park early so he coordinated with a colleague to save us a parking spot and give us the park tickets early. Without this coordination we would've been parking nearly 1 km away from the park entrance. Instead we were feet away. Everything was great!
