We'll meet at the trailhead, introduce ourselves, and do an initial check in about how we are feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally. (You can share out loud or simply make a mental note for yourself.) We'll then begin a guided, walking, mindful meditation. I'll offer queues to bring us into the here and now and stay connected to our bodies, as well as our surroundings, while leaving plenty of quiet for just being present to the movement of the river and flora and fauna. We'll end back where we began and check in with ourselves again. We'll use tools like gentle stretches, body sensation scans, grounding, centering, breath awareness, and orienting. Each experience will be tailored to how the participants are feeling at the start of the walk as well as the mood of the weather. Some days we will move more quickly and there will be more social interaction. Other days will have more silence and very slow movement. My intention is for guests to leave the experience feeling refreshed and more attuned to themselves and the world around them. Children, accompanied by their adults, are welcome on this experience.

My passion is offering the healing & resilience enhancing tools of mediation & yoga anywhere & everywhere & encouraging people to weave it into their day to day lives. I have taught meditation & yoga in jails, homeless shelters, 9-1-1 emergency dispatch centers, on top of 14,000 foot peaks, on a sailboat 80 miles offshore in the North Atlantic, & while holding an active toddler. This experience will give you tools that you can use anywhere, anytime you need them while soaking in the goodness of nature &, if we're lucky, seeing some of Colorado's native wildlife in a gorgeous riparian zone.

We'll meet at the intersection of S Rim Dr & Pinnacle Ct at a trailhead for the Colorado River Trail - Connected Lakes Section. We’ll walk a paved pathway downhill about 1/4 mile through lush vegetation until we come to a small bridge that crosses over a rushing canal & brings us to the Connected Lakes area. We’ll circumnavigate a small lake, stopping frequently to get grounded, centered, oriented, & notice our breath & the local flora & fauna.

No previous yoga or meditation experience is necessary. Come as you are. Bring your curiosity & whatever you feel you might need to enjoy being outdoors for a couple of hours.
