O que você fará

We'll meet at San Francisco square then go by car to Pisac market textile, where we'll have a stop to see more unique hamdmade textiles & sourvenirs, to then continues to the village. Once we arrive at the workshop the weavers dressed in their typical clothes will introduce themselves and explain more about the history of Incas tissue, also we will learn the process to create our own bracelet. The first step is to shear the sheep's wool where our native weaver will tell teach us how to do it using a nonconventional tool. Already with the fibers, we prepare them for washing with 100% natural vegetable detergent, such as the Incas washed their blankets and clothes! The weavers also will teach you the ancestral way to create the yarn using a tool called "phuska" once with our finished thread we start the dyed which is also completely natural, using parasites, leaves, flowers, and other stuff to have many different colors. Meanwhile, we are waiting for our yarn getting the color we do a pause to eat a delicious fresh & organic lunch. Finally, when the thread is ready the weavers will teach you and give you a guide to start your own bracelet with the Incas technique. Remember the community we're going isn't touristic so the villagers don't speak Spanish, only quechua (the inkas language) anyway they're totally open with new people. Also, 40%of the earnings goes for them

Hola! My dad and I decided to create this textile experience together, I am a 24-year-old girl who studied hotel management and my dad is a 52 years old textile engineer with more than 20 years in the textile market, he works for companies such as POLO Ralph Lauren to nonprofit organizations like USAID, he also worked in fashion schools in Sacred Valley where he learned more about Andean textile traditions. Well, we decided to come together to create this project where we provide work to native Quechua women, I'll be the translator and my dad will be the guide.

Onde você estará

The place is located 1 hr. from Cusco by car in the Sacred Valley, inside a very small community in the mountains where the villagers maintain their customs and traditions as the Incas made it. As the Spanish people weren't able to arrive there the whole community mantein their traditions and the family we will meet are adorable.
