O que você fará
You’ll get lots of one-on-one attention in this hands-on basic bookbinding workshop. Working with your hands and some basic tools, you'll learn new skills while making three books: a pamphlet, a concertina (accordion) and a stab binding. You’ll leave with your finished books, project instructions and a resource list! A bonus project will be available for any group that's particularly quick. These projects are designed for success — No experience necessary! Please note: I offer a second workshop Make a Leather Journal. I'm always happy to switch which workshop I teach at a given time as long as no one has signed up yet. I will also work with you to find a day/time that works for your trip for a two-person minimum. Just message me!
I’m Kris and I’ve been making books by hand since 1998, specializing in photo albums and journals. I currently run Scroll & Ink Bookbinding from my studio in an 1897 Old Louisville brick Victorian home. My husband and I are here from the Northwest, and we’ve been enjoying the fabulous Old Louisville lifestyle for several years now.
O que está incluído
There will be a small, no-mess munchie, but your hands will be busy in class so you might want to eat before the workshop.

Onde você estará
The workshop is held in my bookbinding studio in Old Louisville, on the third floor of our 1897 brick Victorian home. While a house tour isn’t formally included, you’ll walk through much of the home on the way to the studio. And feel free to ask me what happened in the dining room in the 60s — I’ll give you a clue: guns were involved!
