Onde você estará

We will meet OUTSIDE at the Toronto Coach Terminal, at the heart of the original Ward district. We will walk towards University Avenue on Dundas Street—the site of the original Chinatown in the 1880s, which was relocated in the 1960s for the construction of the new City Hall. At the start of our outing, we will explore the first Chinatown.

We had such an amazing experience with Carol! We were in Toronto for 2 jam packed nights and 3 days of shows and restaurants and other tours. This was by far our highlight of the trip. Carol’s knowledge of the area, various markets, shops and restaurants could not have been better. She doesn’t kid around when she asks you to arrive hungry! You will leave with a full stomach, take-home containers, a head full of knowledge and probably a new friend in Carol. Highly recommended

This walking tour is great for anyone who would like not only an introduction to Toronto's Chinatown, but also experience firsthand a glimpse into everyday Chinese culture and interactions. Carol treats everyone in the group as adopted family members, and for my Chinese American partner, this was a welcome presence to have. While this may feel like a culture shock to some, this is an intimate opportunity to feel like you're at a Chinese family gathering. And, you'll get to experience some of the most delicious spots in the neighborhood. Arrive hungry, open-minded, and flexible, and you'll have a wonderful time.

Carol greeted us like friends on this tour. She thought of everything including hand sanitizer and a poncho for rain. Through images Carol brought with her, we were able to take a glimpse into the past, seeing where the first wave of Chinese immigrants settled in Toronto. We ate at a bakery, bbq place and hand pulled noodle place - all delicious - that I know I would have missed if it wasn’t for Carol! Carol even brought us into a Chinese grocer and helped us pick some basics for our own pantry. A very personalized and thoughtful tour! We ended the day in Kensington market, enjoying the best doughnut I have ever tasted. Carol gave us some tea that I cannot wait to sip on later today! Would highly recommend :)

This was our first Airbnb experience, and we had no idea what to expect. Carol was amazing and took us on a tour of Chinatown. We ate delicious Chinese BBQ and hand pulled noodles. Carol also ordered us dishes that we mentioned liking. I really felt a connection with Carol. She really has a passion for telling the history of Toronto’s Chinatown.

Our family had a very enjoyable time learning about Toronto's Chinatown history and Carol's knowledge of the area was excellent. We discovered a number of Chinatown restaurants that we would definitely return to again. It was great to learn more about our own city.

This was a unique and culturally experience. It is also an experience that I would consider (as the host) revamping should the weather not be cooperative or, as the person participating in the experience, I would check in advance to make sure that the weather is agreeable before signing up, as so much of this experience is spent outdoors.
