O que você fará
When you arrive, we will have brief coffee/tea time and chat to get to know each other better, then you receive a brief pottery studio introduction. Joanna will show you how to build either a coiled/slab cup, a small vase, nut bowl or a succulent pot. She will share with you many creative ways to decorate your clay object(s). You can emboss with Mojave Desert sand, texture with local plants or paint your own pattern using colorful underglazes. As you create Joanna, will answer any questions you may have or help with challenges you experience. We will bisque, glaze, fire, than ship your creation to you. Important: You will create your clay pieces and leave them in our studio. Clay objects have to dry out (about 8-9 days), then Joanna will fire them once as a bisque, and then she will glaze them (we will discuss and establish glazes colors before you leave) and fire them again for cone5 (temperature 2118F-2167F). The whole process may take Joanna a month, then, she will send it to your address. Shipping is NOT included in the class price, but will be set based on the size of your creation. If you choose to ship your pottery, you will pay a flat fee of $35 for handling and shipping during the class time via card, check, or cash or Joanna will contact you when your ceramics are ready and you can PayPal her. You are also free to pick up directly from us if you live in the area.
