Guests will receive VIP admission and service at the Grey Wolf Resort where they will be treated to the culinary expertise of a farmer, forager, hunter, fisher and award winning chef. A tour of the farm and ranch will take place, Chefarmer Nate will forage some wild ingredients along the way and you will spend time learning about the wild game and fish of the area. Elk, venison, boar, turkey and trout may dance across your palette as you experience a taste of Colorado. Custom menus designed to dietary and preferences with advance notice. Guests have full access to the resort minus space rented to other guests. Skaguay Reservoir provides fishing within ten minutes, wild turkeys, elk and deer visit the property that is home to Rocky Mountain Organic Farms. Heritage mangalitsa pigs, peking ducks, and specialty chickens fill organic pastures. Raised beds and gardens dot the landscape of the working farm and ranch.

We had a wonderful experience with Nate who is an excellent chef! The tour included a brief foraging tour of local Colorado wild edibles near a local river/dam and we attempted to fish (and failed to catch) our dinner while Nate cooked a delicious and creative 3 course meal, which included wild boar and yak. We then continued on to forage on his neighbor’s property, where we found mushrooms and he cooked mushroom tacos to perfection! The dogs on the property were as sweet as can be. We were able to visit and give treats to donkeys and saw roosters, an alpaca, sheep, and goats. The wild edible tour portion by the river was not as lengthy as we had expected, and would definitely recommend staying on Nate’s property to forage for wild edibles!

Fantastic! Our family of 5 (kids 11, 10, 7) had a wonderful time at the resort. We had a farm tour, learned about the animals and plants on the beautiful property. We helped to forage for some ingredients used in our meal. And enjoyed dinner and s’mores all cooked outdoor on a fire. We will be back!

This experience was very unique. My husband and I got the chance to learn about foraging. Nathan is such a chill dude and you go about the area unhurried. It gives you a chance to slow down and take in what you are seeing. It was cool to check out his farm and how he lives a self-sustained life. Also, Nathan is an excellent chef. He somehow turned our foraged vegetation into something incredible. We got to eat chili with pork and pickles cactus, pork tacos with a juniper berry sauce (after we gathered the junipers), pork quesadilla garnished with greens we found, and a dandelion salad with a farm fresh egg/toast. He had such a way of being creative and using all the flavors in a way that balanced perfectly. 10/10 would go again :)

Nate is not only a passionate environmentalist but he is an outstanding chef. Listening to his background and to his passion for agro tourism was inspiring.

Top of the mountain with a Top Chef Great experience! This is a working family farm that belongs to Nathan, (a chef and the guide) and his family. It was fun foraging for wild plants Nathan used in the meals he prepared for us. The food was delicious and the property was gorgeous. Nathan has a good knowledge of wild crafting and how to apply it to the culinary experience. We were nice and full of new knowledge and wild game he prepared masterfully. Be aware this is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes out of Colorado Springs and plan your time accordingly. It was well worth the drive out for this experience!

This is a tremendous experience and opportunity to learn about small farms and their importance to both health and community. Nathan is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about native, edible plants, and cooks some amazing chili!
