Great first time experience! Tomoko gave us tea while explaining the history of the art form. Then we practiced several brush strokes before painting a piece to take home. We appreciated the patience and guidance as we learned new techniques. Very cozy and wonderful experience.

Alternating painting with chatting, Tomoko gave me in depth information of the art of ink painting, its origins and its symbolic meaning. She guided me into painting a final work, that miraculously turned out to be better than I thought! Tomoko has a good sense of humor, is passionate about her art and culture, and about sharing it!
