Experiência de culinária oferecida por Yuriko

2 horas
Japonesa
Para até 4 pessoas
Oferecida em Inglês, Japonês

O que você fará

It’s a combination activity of Wagashi (Japanese confectionary) Making and Chado (Tea ceremony) experience.
You'll make "Kingyo(goldfish)" from mid-July to August.
*I have a same kind of activity “Rice flour Manju Making & Matcha”, too
https://abnb.me/EVmg/N4oVWcy67I

Let's make Japanese sweets in my kitchen. I first show you the instruction video and you will try coloring Nerikiri or Konashi (very sensitive but interesting ingredients which is transformative and colorful), putting them in a shape of the season.
You will make 2 Wagashi. When we are done, let's go to Chashitsu (tea room).
There I prepare a cup of Matcha for you one by one with traditional utensils of “Chado – Tea ceremony”. You can relax and have a Matcha(tea) & your sweets together.
Through this experience I would like you to feel Japanese sweets are very close to you, as you can make it with everyday cook utensils.

I'm a founder of the Wagashi salon, Yu-Art Kichijoji. I graduated from Musashino Art University, I’d been working as for a Japanese maker as an industrial designer. Throughout my life, I’ve focused on traditional Japanese art and culture. I've enjoyed collecting Ukiyo-e (Japanese antique arts) and studying traditional tea style. As tea has always been my passion, I started a career in Chado—the Way of Tea—.

We had a great time on this experience! It was so nice to make our own wagashi and then have a casual tea ceremony where we could eat them with green tea. I also thought it was a great value for what you got, and our hostess was very friendly and thoughtful.

We had a great time! Yuriko communicated well, met us at the train station and walked us to the location, and made us very welcome. Making the sweets was super fun and easy for someone like me with no experience. The tea after was a fun experience. Highly recommend.

Yuriko was a lovely host who had a deep knowledge of the history and techniques of wagashi making. From helping us how to mold and color the pastry to finishing off the pieces with special touches, she was patient with us and had great anecdotes to tell. After the pastry making, she showed us a typical tea gathering with matcha in traditional garb and ceremony. I would recommend her to any one who wanted a unique experience in the japanese art of wagashi making.

色合わせによって雰囲気がぐっと変わる和菓子、自分でカラーを選んで作るのがとても楽しかったです。茶道体験は日本人でも参加する機会があまりないのでスペシャルな体験でした!

It was a glimpse in a completely different culture for us. We enjoyed the wagashi-making and Yuriko gave us interesting background informations. She also demonstrated and explained the tea ceremony in a very kind manner.

The activity was a lot of fun. Yuriko spends a lot of time to provide clear explanations and made sure it was easy to follow. Overall, had lots of fun making the wagashi and enjoyed them with the tea ceremony she provided us.
