O que você fará

Railroad Museum
An engineer by the name of Mr. Watson would entertain the large passing crowds by doing handstands on the cattle guard of the engines. One day he slipped and was immediately decapitated. A derby hat was still securely sitting on the head they found a mile away!

Tremont House
Many noteworthy figures have checked in, but some never checked out. Sobs are heard on the stairwells and in the halls. A Civil War soldier marches up and down the lobby for everybody to see. A young boy plays in the hotel rumored to be the ghost of a child run over outside in front of the hotel. One ghost will even help you unpack!

Grand Opera House
A British actor sailed to Galveston to perform at The Grand Opera House, but died before the curtain was ever raised. A few days later, the Great Storm demolished the island and carried his coffin out to sea. It floated from Galveston to Prince Albert Sound before it finally made land!

Sealy Hutchins Building
This is home to several of Galveston’s favorite ghosts. One is often seen on the staircase by the window where she pulled bodies out of the water. Sara soon died from a disease from the flood water.

Jean Lafitte
Lafitte built a home on the island to house pirates and prostitutes. Legend has it he buried his treasure on the west end of the island. He returned in 1823 after he was killed in battle off the coast of Central America.

My daughter finished reading a book about a few of the haunted places in Galveston so we did this tour as a follow up to see some of the actual buildings. It was perfect! The tour guide was lively and had such great storytelling. You can tell this is something he personally enjoys. The Strand is a beautiful location, great for nighttime pictures of haunted historic buildings.

I didn't expect to be shown around by a pirate but I'm glad I did. We had a good time . It wasn't too much walking and was a great way to wander the streets in a Saturday night.

We enjoyed the ghost tour. There were two tour guides neither were the person listed on AirBNB, so that was a little confusing. Our tour guide was informative but could have used more storytelling to make the experience more enjoyable.

Lots of fun! Great historical walking tour of downtown Galveston. Not really all that spooky, but you do hear some really interesting stories about the island.

The guide we had was not the individual we were expecting. And while he was friendly, there was very little story telling or historical information provided. The tour ended up being more about taking pictures at spots where ghosts have been spotted. Unfortunately, at only a couple of sites was the guide able to tell us the history/lore behind the sightings. It's a good tour for those who are solely there to try and take pictures of ghosts but not for people who want to learn about the city and its past.
