Situated in the West End of St Helier, it provides the perfect Pied A Terre with shops, beach, parks, eateries, entertainment and transport links all within a ten minute stroll. The street is a busy active alive place, yet the accommodation at the rear of the property hears it not! If you like quirky and quaint mixed with outdoor cafe street life then this is for you. It's a great space for people from all backgrounds, couples, solo adventurers, and small canine friends.

O espaço
The studio cottage is bijou, cosy, sweet and quirky. It is accessed via the main property using a shared front door and hallway which leads to the courtyard. The studio entrance leads staight into the lounge which has a leaf drop table, double sofa bed, a coffee table, TV and small amount of storage under. The lounge leads to the kitchen which has 4 ring hob, dual microwave/oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, washing maching and tumble dryer. There is an understair cupboard with iron, ironing board and some storage space. Picnic Cooler Box, cutlery, crockery, pots & pans, washing powder, washing up liquid, tea towels, cloths are all in situ. Tea, coffee, sugar, and small carton of milk, loo rolls, body/hair shampoo are all in place for your arrival.

SOFA BED
Please indicate in your booking application if you need the sofa bed made up. I always do this if more than two guests are booked, but sometimes my two guests have not been a ‘couple’ and I have no certain way of knowing that in advance. I like to have it prep’d so that the guest only needs to fold it out and grab the pillows stored in the boxes under the TV before jumping into bed.

Please note that the standard tariff for the cottage relates to two people sharing, each extra guest beyond two people is an additional £10 per person per night as indicated on the standard fees. If you need to increase the number of travellers after your booking has been confirmed you must go back into the booking and request adjustment, AirBnb will notify me and the cost will be auto updated on my acceptance.

SPIRAL STYLE STAIRCASE
There is a one enclosed corner staircase leading from the kitchen to the upstairs landing. It is original and quirky but has a wider tread on the outside and narrowing to a point where it meets it's inner pole. It is enclosed so nothing can fall through any gaps and it is flanked by two walls and the understair cupboard. However It may be a challenge for some people, elderly or very young or if you are expecting. Small suitcases can be transported upstairs but larger ones are a challenge.

Once upstairs the landing leads off to one double bedroom with double wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside storage boxes, hairdryer, hair curling brush and men's shaver.

The landing also leads to the bathroom which houses the hot water boiler, airing cupboard wash basin, WC, and shower and towel rail.

LIGHT ON THE LANDING
It is operated by a dual switch, one in the kitchen at the bottom of the stairs and one on the landing. It can only be turned back on using the switch you last turned it off with, so I recommend that in the mornings and during the daytime always turn it off after coming downstairs, so that at night or if the bathroom and bedroom doors are closed during the day, you can always turn it on before you go up the stairs, as there is no natural daylight on the landing.

So, at bedtime turn it off upstairs, in the morning turn it back on upstairs, leave the doors upstairs open, then turn it off once you arrive downstairs so you can turn it back on from downstairs when it gets dark! (Some guests think my light isn’t working, but it always has been, but if it gets out of sync you have to run up and down a couple of times to get it sorted.

FRIDGE
The fridge strangely does not have an interior light, and there is no place for one within it. Please don’t let it fool you, or waste time trying to ‘fix’ it. I can assure you it works perfectly without the light fantastic.

AND FINALLY
Once here, you will relax and enjoy this little haven in a busy area of St Helier.

Acesso do hóspede
There is shared access from the main road. Guests will have private use of the studio cottage. The courtyard is a shared area between the main entrance and the studio is shared but rarely used by the host.

SMOKING
Is not permitted in the studio cottage, however we have no objection if you want to smoke in the courtyard. Please use the ashtray box provided.

COURTYARD
Dine, wine or enjoy a cold beer in the courtyard, but please ensure all food/debris/rubbish is properly disposed of in the bins provided to avoid intrusion by seagulls.

If bringing the blue table into the courtyard then please ensure it and its chairs are taken back in before going out or retiring for the night.

Please do remember to lock the cottage when going out and to pull the main front door securely shut.

You will be held responsible for the cost of replacing any lost keys or locks, or any damage to locks, so please first make sure you contact your host straight away if you can't find your keys!

ELECTRICITY
The cottage has its own metered electric and water supply. The host covers the water costs entirely along with the first £15 of electric on every booking throughout the year. Once this amount of electric has been used the guest/s must purchase electric tokens from the host. Emergency tokens can be purchased in advance and if not used the guest will be refunded at the end of the stay. £15 usually lasts 5 days in the summer but the host has no control over the use of heating equipment during the cooler months so the user will need to PAYG once the first £15 has been used up.

WATER
Is metered separately to the cottage and paid by the host.

It's in a really vibrant and increasingly Latin quarter at the West End of St Helier, with Peoples Park around the corner to the West and The Parade Park a 2 minute walk to the East. 4 mins to the South and you will come to The Esplanade and the beach and sea.. just across the road at the bottom end of People's Park. The Park is used for all sorts of shows, entertainment, fairs, Battle of Britain displays, Battle of Flower activities etc. The Jersey Opera House is 2 minutes away, as is the General Hospital. The Town Centre is only 5 - 10 mins walk and the studio cottage is set back off the road to the rear of the main property so is quiet to the bustling hub-bub going on out front. In addition there is a newsagents/corner store, several cafes and restaurants nearby, and two small supermarkets in the same few yards from the front door. There is plenty of paid parking nearby, but it can be very busy in July and August. A good bicycle route, along with island buses, taxis and coach tours are all within 15 mins walking distance.
