The chalet is separate tucked away at the end of the garden, and the other bedroom is seperate annex in the main house - 1 minute away down the garden path. The chalet has a double bed and fold out double futon (plus a single fold out bed if necessary but it is verytight!). The annexe has two comfortable single beds which can also be put together to use as a double double. The annex is separated from the main house with a sliding lockable door. The bathroom for the chalet is next to the bedroom in the annex.

Outras observações
For younger children we have guinnea pig cuddles (by appointment only). We now have a little cockatoo called Sooty.

If you would like to bring a well behaved dog you are welcome with our permission, but we do charge an extra £10 per stay to cover the additional cleaning.

Dogs must be kept on lead in the garden so they don’t unsettle our guinea pigs and rabbits.

There is no bathroom in the chalet but a shower room and toilet is set aside for guest use in the main house (literally 10 seconds walk through the garden).

Localização

Frilsham, Inglaterra, Reino Unido

We are situated just outside the charming village of Yattendon with its own pubs, deli, coffee shop and hairdressers. We live on a quiet private residential lane. The award winning pub The Pot Kiln is just 10 minutes walk across the fields or a 2 minute drive away. It serves excellent food, and heavenly wood fired pizzas in the garden on Sunday afternoons in the Summer.

Close to stunning country walks, wonderful pubs, art and culture of Oxford, and family-friendly activities. Newbury, Reading and Oxford are all within easy access. There is a large network or public footpaths and many beautiful walks in the Pang Valley. Basildon Park, Highclere Castle and Newbury Race course. For families Bucklebury Farm Park and the Living Rain Forest are just up the road.

Bucklebury in the next door village has recently shot to fame as the home of Kate Middleton’s family.

In Frilsham forest in a patch of woodland there is an ancient monument associated with St. Frideswide. This is a 'miraculous' well which sustained the saint while she was hiding from the unwelcome amorous advances of Aelfgar in the eighth century. In later years a religious order was founded in Oxford in her honour that survived up to the Reformation, Henry VIII later reformed it as Christchurch College Oxford. St. Frideswide is the patron saint of Oxford.

Looking west of the village across distant views of rolling countryside, is St Frideswide church, named after Princess Frideswide. The late 7th century legend of St. Frideswide says that the church stands on the site of a ruined temple used as a pig-sty. It was that pig-sty which provided cover for the princess as she fled from the unwanted attentions of a Mercian prince. St. Frideswide hid there for some time, sustained by the well, which is preserved in the woodland which is just a 15 minute walk from the house.

I am mother with 2 young children. My husband (Kostas) and I live in the house. We have a little Cockerpoo called Sooty and 2 guinnea pigs that are kept outside, and often my Mother’s Labradoodle will come and stay (Noodle). I love spending time with the family and working as a food photographer. We truly believe that a full house is a happy house and look forward to welcoming guests.
