O espaço
Room A is a sunny first floor handicap-accessible bedroom with a great view of the Old South Church. The room has a full size bed and there is a very comfortable roll out LL Bean cot available for a third guest upon request. There is a new marble bathroom shared only with Room B. The room has all the amenities of a five star hotel: decorative L.L. Bean furniture, fresh flowers, top of the line L.L. Bean bedding, plush L.L. Bean bathrobe, fully equipped gym with four workout stations and personal TVs, large screen TV in the room with local channels and amazon prime loaded, a welcome gift and extreme cleanliness. The room includes a desk and executive chair, reading chair, dresser, refrigerator with freezer, and coffee maker with complimentary coffee. It is an historic house that was built in the 1820s by an abolitionist and philanthropist for the Knights of Columbus who used it as charity housing for freedom seekers and others. The third floor used to be a dormitory lined with beds each with a set of built in drawers for each bed that are still present. There is a granite block tunnel that leads from the basement to the Kennebec River. The house was recently renovated with many of the original features preserved and the historic beams exposed. Hallowell is two miles from the state capitol, three miles from I-95, three miles from the airport, seven miles from Concord bus station and six miles from Augusta Marketplace (the mall), Civic Center and the University of Maine. Complimentary laundry for stays of five nights or longer.

Outras observações
Bedrooms are cleaned and linens and towels changed after each use. Common areas are cleaned weekly. Housekeeping includes dusting, polishing and vacuuming. I love to clean and make thing things shiny. Please let me know if you are sensitive to room fragrances and what size bathrobes you need. L.L. Bean sizing is generous. I have XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL. During the season for guests who stay two nights or longer, we have complimentary L.L. Bean bicycles, paddleboards and kayaks to use on the Kennebec River Rail Trail and Kennebec River. A liability release form must be signed prior to use. The rail trail stretches along the river through Hallowell for about ten miles from Augusta to Gardiner. The boat landing is just one block away and we have a kayak cart for getting the kayaks and paddleboards down to the water. The Kennebec River is a wonderful place to kayak or paddle board and an easy excursion to Gardiner or Augusta to explore their historic downtowns. There are eagles and ospreys soaring and sturgeons jumping. There is also a swimming area at the Hallowell town beach about three miles inland.
