Localização

Halifax, Nova Escócia, Canadá

Our Georgian townhouse is located in the Old South neighbourhood of Halifax. This is a protected historic district that preserves the unique characteristics of our city's past. You will notice the Heritage Commission designation plaque on the entrance, received in 1982 recognizing the unique nature of the architecture of this row of houses. It is considered the most photographed housing block in the province. We are hopeful that our Air BnB venture will prove that history such as this building can be viably preserved, respected and enjoyed.

This location is the most walkable neighbourhood in Halifax. Located in the middle of the historic city centre, the unit is a five minute walk to everything you need. Only a one to two minute walk away is the waterfront boardwalk, which you can see from the front of the building. Once on the board walk, all that the waterfront has to offer from great views, restaurants and bars, museums and all the best tours and experiences, is at your fingertips. You can be dining at some of the finest restaurants in the city within minutes of leaving the door step in any direction.

There is a grocery store located a five minute walk from the unit, along with a liquor store and dry cleaning. The Halifax Farmers Market is only a four minute walk from the unit and is visible from the front side of the building. This market runs throughout the week but if you happen to be staying on a Saturday, you’re in luck! Vendors from all over the province attend the market on Saturday mornings to sell wares such as traditional crafts, wine and spirits, local roasted coffee, fresh French bread and pastries, local meats, hand made soaps and of course local produce! Next door from there is the Canadian National Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, a site where over one million immigrants to Canada arrived and cruise ships dock year-round.

Just 30 seconds from your doorstep:

One of Halifax’s quaintest cafes, The Wired Monk, serves to-go breakfast items and offers a lovely seating area that you can sit and watch the passerby’s on the street. Located directly across the street is Piatto, an artisan pizza restaurant that features an imported European wood fired oven.

Just 1-2 minutes and within sight of the door step:

On the corner of the next block is Talay Thai restaurant. Next to that you will find Stories fine dining. This is arguably one of the better restaurants in Halifax with game and continental style cuisine and of course great local sea foods! Couple this with excellent selections of wine and you can go wrong. Directly next door is Halifax’s newest ramen bar, Buta Ramen, which is located in one of the city’s oldest fire station buildings. On the corner of the next block is a Vietnamese restaurant called Man Bean that serves good pho and Vietnamese and Thai specialties. Next door to Man Bean you will find Morris East, a great artisan pizza shop that has amazing specials and a wonderful patio and bar.

Around the corner, up the street:

Henry House, an English style pub, is in one of the oldest buildings in the city. Bearly’s House of Blues and Ribs features karaoke and a local dive bar atmosphere. Qui Dumpling Brothers serves up traditional Chinese food. Cafe Chianti is a great Italian bistro.

Around the corner, down the street:

Ristorante Amano, great Italian pizza and pasta joint. Moderately priced and excellent deserts and atmosphere. The Bicycle Thief, an amazing waterfront restaurant that is often heralded as the best restaurant in Halifax for atmosphere and clientele. Little Oak tapas bar, an award winning gem, is discreetly tucked into the facade at Bishops Landing next to the the Bicycle Thief, but make no mistake, this is one of the best spots to find yourself eating and drinking in Halifax. Bishops Cellar is a private wine and spirit retailer on the waterfront that carries those special vintages that are often hard to track down. The Keith’s Brewery which features a tour is just a few moments past Bishops Landing , in a historical building that also houses Da Maurizio, one of the best traditional fine dinning restaurants in Halifax. Cut Steak House and Oyster Bar is a few seconds further down the street.

Hello there, We are a fun young couple with plenty of airbnb experience from our own personal travel in North America and abroad. We love to enjoy the many adventures our beautiful city has to offer. From hopping on our bicycles to go touring the parks and coastlines, to preparing gourmet meals using local and international flavours! You could rightly say we love life to the fullest! We both work together running our own renovations and design company here in the city. I have two children who we share our lives and experiences with as much as possible. Our mission in setting up our own Airbnb is to provide a space similar to some of the great spots we have enjoyed while exploring the world. .

We have a self-check-in program in this unit, but we are always available to respond to the needs or concerns of our guests. Both I and my partner are from rural Nova Scotia. I was born in Cape Breton and have a great expertise on travelling to visit there! My partner grew up in Chester on the south shore and considers himself an expert on every south of Halifax all the way to Yarmouth. Now we call Halifax our home, and love the food and culture of the city. Restaurants, outings, events, feel free to ask! We love to make recommendations. We are here for our guests 24/7.
