Your own exclusive 50 acre luxury rural retreat all to yourself. Welcome to Kanimbia Homestead, a private oasis with beautiful lagoon style pool overlooking stunning views ...... secluded, in the lush green Obi valley. Large & luxurious: beautiful views by day & starry skies by night. If you yearn for space, style & privacy then this is it. Character fireplaces ,Tuscan bathroom, Old beams & friendly animals!

O espaço
In the words of one of our guests they described Kanimbia as "Soothing green scenery in every direction, expansive skylines you just don't get in the suburbs, a delicious pool with surely the best backdrop in the Sunshine Coast hinterland" it certainly does feel like you are in a different world with our nearest neighbour half a kilometre away and out of sight yet only 40 minutes to the coast. This 450sqm homesteaf is truly luxurious, private & secluded. Perfect for family get togethers and only minutes to all the wedding venues with the Obi Hall being just 2 minutes away.
Whilst being secluded we still have fast NBN network with unlimited wireless wifi.
You will have the entire house to yourself and you may wander anywhere on the property.
Please note that NO PARTIES OR EVENTS are allowed at this property.
Our star attractions at Kanimbia are our pets who may visit you during your stay if you want. Frankie, our fast sweet Koollie, Goober, our loveable Gorky Wolfhound and our cats : Claude ( a seasoned host who will hang with you if you enjoy his company) or Groote, shy and elusive but very pretty!
NEW in 2020, four 60sqm luxury glamping tents coming, one already here and we are super excited to announce that our traditional Sioux Indian tipis are going up in late 2020 also! Limited camping and caravanning spots by special arrangement in the glamping area, please ask for details.
Then there’s the four horses who you can stroll down the field to see. They love carrots and pats!
Our guests love cooking in the huge gourmet kitchen with nook seating area to the side and we often find they have left delicious samples of their creations for us after they have left! Relax in one of the 2 lounges or pick up a book in the large sunfilled reading room, enjoy the breezes from the timber french and bifold doors in every room opening up to stunning views of the natural bush, enormous fig trees and rolling paddocks.
Everyone has fun in the beach style saltwater pool. You can watch the kids in the pool from the under cover BBQ area. Large bifold doors lead out from both lounges onto the undercover entertainment area overlooking the pool. Experience the fire pit at nightfall and watch the stars.
Choose a different seating spot under the large extensive verandahs depending on the time of day, we like to sit with a glass of wine overlooking the valley in the late afternoon and watch the sun go down.
For the brave there's an extra outdoor shower otherwise there's 2 other showers with another ensuite being added later this year.
The kids have a magical time splashing around in the creek, roaming the fields and discovering all of our 7 dams, whilst the adults can enjoy interesting walks, listen to the birdlife and enjoy a picnic down at our beautiful swimming hole in the shade of the gum trees.
There is also a very comfortable queen sofa bed in addition which is situated towards the back of the house in the reading room.
We have the facilities for you to bring your own horse if you would like.

Acesso do hóspede
The whole 50 acre property is available to guests to enjoy including the creek and paddocks and woodland.
Bedroom access is dependent on number of guests booked.
We stay on the property but about half a kilometre away from the house and out of sight so your privacy is assured. We keep our barn locked and an office in the house also locked.
Your warmth is assured in the cooller winter mornings and evenings with 5 reverse cycle air conditioners and 2 woodburning stoves. Due to significant fire risks though and insurance liabilities we DO NOT ALLOW lighting of the one open fireplace in the lounge (however the 2 other woodburners are perfect for guest use). Any guests found lighting the open fire will unfortunately have their reservation cancelled immediately and will result in a loss of their security deposit. We apologise in advance if this upsets some guests but we do want a house to live in afterwards ;) and not all guests are careful. Our insurer will not insure us for open house fires unfortunately :(

Outras observações
The property is very suitable for groups but we DO NOT allow parties of any kind. This will be enforced if we find there are any parties.
Our place is most suited to family get togethers, family holidays, spiritual retreats, yoga groups, birdwatching groups, book groups etc. We cannot support any day guests unless by prior arrangement.
Our property is not overlooked by anyone with our nearest neighbour being atleast 600metres away. It is a very private and quiet place where wallabies can be seen grazing regularly in the very early morning or late afternoon.
Our farm cat, Claude can stay up at the Homestead with you during your stay if you wish or otherwise he stays with us at our stone cottage in the grounds
Claude is a rather large super friendly ex stray from the Gold Coast cat. He thinks he’s in heaven since he’s been on the farm. He’s a bit like a Labrador dog, easy going and sociable.
We can supply you with firewood for the woodburners for an additional fee of $12 which should last most guests 2 nights.

Obi Obi, Queensland, Austrália

Obi Obi remains a quiet country area that feels like you are a million miles from everything and yet only 10 minutes to Mapleton, 20 minutes to Nambour and Montville but only 35 Minutes to the coast. The roads in our immediate area are good gravel roads ( very suitable for cars), great for walking and discovering the laneways and the Obi Obi River. We are surrounded by National Park, the Mapleton Falls, The Condalilla Falls, The Great Walks, Kenilworth Cheese Factory and Popular Montville only 20 minutes away. Bring a canoe and go paddling down the Obi Obi all the way to the Mary River if you are feeling energetic or go hiking through the National forest. You can even bring your horse and go riding amongst the forest trails.
