Step back in time with this 1860's antique style farmhouse. Nestled on a mountainside amidst 65 acres of forest, this home is a truly private and peaceful getaway. Being built in 1999, it gives all the modern amenities and comforts, while all the layout, design, and interior immerse you into an era long past. Sitting up on the ridge side, each room holds breathtaking panoramic views of the valley. The property is complete with a spring fed pond, private hiking trails, and a quaint log cabin.

O espaço
This spacious 3 story home @ 3300 sq ft has 5 sizable bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms. The farm kitchen is fully equipped and ready for cooking. The home has all the modern conveniences, including central air conditioning and heating to every room. There are 4 wood burning fireplaces with plenty of split wood to use. The property is such a peaceful, tranquil, and relaxing spot to truly rest and enjoy time with your friends and family. This is a very private, safe and quiet spot--making it the perfect getaway to escape life's busyness.

The house is a part of a wedding venue and you will notice mentions of that around the property. This airbnb is strictly for family/friend vacation use, and not to be used for any events — those are booked separately through our venue site.

Here's a breakdown of the layout--

Floor 1 : Kitchen, Living Room, Dining Room, Half Bathroom, Laundry Room and Parlor
Floor 2 : Master Bedroom Suite, Master Bathroom, Walk in Closet, Blue Room (2 single beds), and Green Room (1 queen bed), and another full bathroom
Floor 3 : Family Room (large bedroom, full bed, bunk bed which has two twin beds, large closet/crib room, sink) and space for 2 memory foam cots (easily movable to any room), Pink Bedroom (1 full bed). Complete house sleeps 12 in beds, and 2 in memory foam cots = 14 sleeping total possible.

The living room has an HD TV with a selection of dvds, along with books and games. The parlor holds a piano as well. There are sizable front and back porches.

Linens, towels, and pillows are provided in each room.

*There is a propane barbecue grill on the back porch as well for guest use.

Outside there is an expansive yard with views of the mountainside, the forest, and the ridge. The yard holds beautiful fruit trees, flowers and landscaping. You can see a panoramic mountain vista with views for miles. There is a spring fed pond and a path to a small cabin just 1 minute walk from the house. The log cabin is an earlier 1800 era style with a fireplace, and fun to explore. You're welcome to camp out in it if you have some adventurous ones in your group, or just a visit. There is also a period style carriage house (barn) and antique shed all to help your stay feel of a distant era. Though the barn is not for guest access (that will be locked and for venue customers only).

The house sits on 65 private acres of forested land. There are several private hiking trails that take you up the mountainside, to mountain streams and even the ruins of the old coal mine. You can spend lots of time out in nature exploring the ridge, or cozy up next to one of the fireplaces with a book. You can enjoy cooking a tasty meal, or sit back and watch a movie. You could try fishing (fishing rods/basic gear provided), swimming in the pond, or rocking on the front porch swing. You could enjoy the outdoor fire pit roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, or just stargaze into the wondrous country night sky and find the constellations (far away from the city lights).

This is a special place that makes for a wonderful getaway, family vacations, family reunions, friend trips, a Chattanooga vacation with a country twist, or a home base for nature expeditions.

***If you are coming to Whitwell to Hang glide or Paraglide-- this is the perfect place to stay with your crew. The house is situated so you can see the gliders up high in their prime spot all around the takeoff. The house is close enough, your fan club can easily watch you from sitting in the yard, and we're only 5 mins from the landing zone. You can ease the 5 minute drive from the landing zone to the house for a nice meal or warm up by the fire.

With all the beauty, scenery, and historic charm, this property is also a venue for weddings (which is booked separately, you can search for our site, same name). So if you or anyone you know is planning a wedding and may be interested, please put them in touch with us via that site (no events or anything venue related allowed through airbnb).

Mountain Willow Manor will capture your heart and make for a wonderful and relaxing stay for your family and friends.

House rules:
No pets allowed, no fireworks, no smoking, no parties or events, no glitter, no access to the barn (that is for wedding customers/special venue bookings only). Thank you kindly

I have lived in Chattanooga, TN most all of my life, but love to travel. I've lived in both California and Nepal, for short terms and loved them both. I love mountains and coasts, rivers and forests. I enjoy running, soccer, tennis, snowboarding, scuba and most anything outdoors. I love to learn from others' cultures and way of doing life. While at at home, I work as an operations manager for an online furniture retailer based in Chattanooga, TN. I enjoy woodworking, home renovation projects, and spending time with family. I was so very lucky to meet Melody, who also grew up in Chattanooga her whole life. We met at the perfect time and now we get to do life together. Both our families live in the area, as well as many life-long friends. This is our home city and we absolutely love everything about it-- the land, the trees, the rivers, the mountains, the outdoor culture, the restaurants, the people and more. We enjoy spending as much time as we can outdoors, hiking, camping, sightseeing, and exploring. We also love being at home, cooking, taking in the sunset, and relaxing by the fire. We look forward to opening our home to you for your Chattanooga experience.
