This mini apartment, 4 blocks from CBD, inside a 1898 Victorian House. Has Kitchen, Bathroom & 2 large, high-ceilinged bedrooms. Fully furnished includes free high speed wi-fi, free carpark plus full laundry facilities.

The apartment is a fully self-contained space within a beautiful Victorian house - rare in Brisbane.

The apartment consists of :-

- 2 bedrooms, containing 2 queen size beds.
- Full kitchen with work bench, 4 burner electric stove with fan forced oven, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, rice cooker, dishwasher, full size fridge with freezer, microwave, sink, cutlery including bottle openers, can openers, corkscrews, flatware for 4 people, pots and pans and fire extinguisher.
-Private bathroom, which includes a dual head shower, toilet and hand basin. Please be aware the shower has been mentioned in past reviews as being compact. The dimensions are 800mm X 820mm X 2250mm
-An enclosed private indoor Veranda overlooking the street,
-Hallway, which divides the two bedrooms and connects the front apartment to the rest of the house. The hallway has a door which is deadlocked and closed to separate it from the rear of the house, so you have your own totally private space – fully self-contained.
-The wet areas have slip resistant surfaces.
-The apartment has polished wooden floors with the exception of bathroom, kitchen and master bedroom, which is carpeted.
-You have your own private entrance at the front of the property, which has ramp access for disabled as well as an outdoor raised landing area for summer time drinks, or if required a safe area for outside smoking.
-The house, in keeping with Queensland building style is on stumps, stilts or poles depending on your preferred name ( wiki Queenslander_(architecture) for more info ) this means the house is approx. 2meters off the ground but is still considered a ground floor apartment. All windows have security bars and all external doors are deadlocked.
-The bedroom windows have blackout curtains if you like to sleep late.
-The bedrooms are supplied with Alarm clocks
-You have your own washing machine, tumble dryer, hair dryer and iron
-The bedrooms have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors fitted

Built in 1898 the house is a rare example of turn of last century colonial construction. It was recently renovated and is in great condition. It is rare to find a house so close to the central business district available for short term rent.

We are 3 Blocks from the heart of the city (Queen St Mall) and 5 minutes’ walk to central train station; with free CBD loop bus stops less than 2 minutes’ walk away to take you to city, Southbank, the Botanical Gardens or Fortitude Valley.

My goal is to maintain the rooms to a very high standard.

I provide a starter pack in the kitchen that includes: -

•Instant Coffee Tea and Sugar
•Cooking Oil
•Salt & Pepper, Various condiments in Fridge.

I also have a selection of local maps, public transport timetables and tourist information which you are free to take.

The apartment also has a Laser Printer with Paper etc that you are free to use if you require print-outs. I’ve found this especially handy when printing out day trip information or directions.

The house is equipped with secured wireless Internet. It is connected via high speed ADSL. Usage is unlimited and free of change.

Situated on the edge of the CBD and within walking distance of both Fortitude Valley & West End. You will have full and private access to your own self-contained Apartment contained within a larger Victorian Era House. Includes own laundry facilities and a nice little study. Park in the back yard and walk everywhere.

If you read no further, key points based on feedback about this listing are :-

1. This is a self-contained apartment inside a larger house. It is a separate, private, secure and fully self-contained apartment but is the front side of a larger house. The rear of the house is occupied by me, or if I am away, as is often the case, there is the potential for the rear of the house to also be listed on Airbnb. The rear entrance is on the opposite side of the house and there is no possibility of interacting with anyone unless you park in the free onsite parking in the back yard.

2. This is an OLD VICTORIAN HOUSE. Some people like older buildings which have the charm of a by gone era, others prefer sealed windows with low ceilings. If you are looking for modern building this is not a listing for you. The house is made of timber and has associated noises of a timber building with wooden floors and high ceilings.

3. The house is located INNER CITY, meaning there is the associated city background noises, and the house is at street level. Spring Hill is a vibrant and busy inner-city suburb. Most guest book on the basis of the amenities and the location, however some guest would like the calm of a rural farm but located 3 blocks from the heart of the city. Unfortunately meeting these unrealistic expectations is beyond my control.

4. The apartment DOES NOT have a Lounge Room area and does have a quirky layout – the kitchen is accessed via one of the bedrooms. It is best described as a pied-à-terre, a small living unit located in a large city. The apartment is an ideal space for anyone looking for 2 bedrooms, with 2 Queen size beds, for up to 4 guest, with free onsite parking, located within 5 minutes walking distance from the heart of the city.

5. Normal check in is 3pm and Check out is 11am. Early check-in or late checkout is available for a flat $60 fee if the night before or after your booking is currently available. For this fee I take the apartment off the market to guarantee your arrival or departure at a time that is convenient to you – ideal for early or late flights.

6. There is no facility onsite to store your luggage before or after your visit.

Spring Hill is the oldest suburb of Brisbane and, therefore, comes with history and character galore. You will fall in love with it. On the doorstep to the city but removed from the hustle and bustle. With Fortitude Valley or West End (fashion and food hubs of Brisbane) within 15 minutes walk and ferries, buses and trains are within 10 minutes walk. 2 supermarkets and a 24 hour convenience store are minutes walk away, too.
Within walking distance of St Andrew's Hospital and Brisbane Private Hospital plus Wickham Terrace.
You will be utterly charmed by this locale and agree that it's the best location to stay for a holiday/short term apartment in Brisbane.

I've lived in Spring Hill for 20 years so am very familiar with the area and surrounds. I have rented apartments through AirBnB when traveling and rented this space through AirBnB so am familiar with both sides of the relationship. I think that helps me be both a good landlord and renter. I am very respectful of other people's property and expect the same (and find almost all people are, thankfully). Spring Hill is a lovely area, almost genteel, but on the edge of the city so incredibly centrally located. My place has a lovely homely feel and I really enjoy meeting people from around the world so come and visit : )
