Localização

San Antonio, Texas, Estados Unidos

Beautiful Dignowity Hill, a Historic District centrally located, making this home a combination of quaint, convenience, and comfort. First settled in the 1850s, the neighborhood declined for several decades, but has seen a remarkable renaissance in the recent past, making it one of the most sought-after areas in the city. Although still in transition, this neighborhood is attracting great diversity.

The neighborhood is safe, however some neighboring streets are still in transition. This neighborhood is Historic, therefore, you will find 100+ year old homes.

Here are just a few recommendations for nearby food & drink options: most are within walking distance.

Panchos & Gringos: Opened 8AM-2PM daily, P&G is the casual diner you always dreamed of that combines awesome breakfast sandwiches with Mexican breakfast and giant pancakes. Insanely cheap.
900 Nolan St

Estate Coffee Company: a must-visit for house-roasted coffee, weekend brunch specials, and airy space. Go for the coffee cocktails, leave with a bag of spices from Oak & Salt.
1320 E Houston St

Con huevos: Only open from 7-noon Tues-Fri & 8-noon Saturday, they feature traditional and authentic mexica cuisine. 1629 E Houston St

Dignowity Meats: Great for lunch with its awesome sandwiches, but their dinner options are fantastic as well (delicious St. Louis ribs, loaded Dignowity Pie with brisket burnt ends, pulled pork with mac over fries with sliced jalapeños, or Granny Apple slaw).
1701 E Houston St

Tucker's Kozy Korner: Soul food and great music (often live, sometimes DJs). The new menu includes chicken and waffles, Southern fried chicken, catfish, fried green tomatoes, skillet cornbread & the house burger.
1338 E Houston St

Sweet Yams: Known for low-fat, vegetarian & gluten-free options (they also serve locally sourced meat dishes).
218 N Cherry St

Alamo Beer Brewery & Beer Garden: Alamo's beer hall hosts new food trucks & events on the regular & is located underneath/next to the Hays Street Bridge.
202 Lamar St

Burleson Yard Beer Garden: Massive patio bar that hosts great jam bands, food trucks, & laid-back viewing parties of both classic movies and Spurs games.
430 Austin St

Big Hops The Bridge: Choose from the ever-rotating list of beers and more at great prices, or stop by for brewery-specific tap takeovers, Frankenbike events or beer & cheese pairings.
306 Austin St

Artisan Distillery: Vodka distillery and cocktail lounge. Open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday. 315 8th St

Mobile Om brings yoga to the Hays Street bridge 3 nights/week for "vinyasa with a view" which is about a 10-minute walk from our house.

The Downtown, the Riverwalk and the Pearl are approx. 10 min by bike, 1.5 mile distance.

Hi everyone, I'm a local San Antonian. I'm a molecular biologist by day and Airbnb host on the side. I love my beautiful city because of it's beautiful culture and friendly community. I'm big into growing my own garden as well as creating fermented foods. Glad that microbiology degree kicked in. :) My boyfriend Daniel is a chef and he helps me host. He also is very skilled in the culinary world and loves socializing. We both enjoy the city and the local events any chance we get. So if you don't see us at the house, chances are, you'll see us at any of the downtown events.
