Our spacious two Queen Bedrooms, 1.5 bathroom property has full kitchen/ laundry FOXTEL and Netflix. The beds are comfy and the rooms well proportioned. The lounge/dining is spacious with 48” smartTV. A separate kitchen is well equipped and leads through the stacker doors to a large all weather deck with a double daybed and outdoor setting with Webber BabyQ.
A 2nd unit downstairs with separate entrance is sometimes occupied concurrently.However they are well positioned for individual privacy.

We have owned and manage ECLECTIC PARADISE (Upstairs) ourselves for over 20 years. We do not use real estate agencies or other third parties to look after our property. In addition we do many of the cleans and regular spring cleans on the property to keep it in good order. We sometimes will even get to meet you if we do the clean before you arrive. This property is a very large two bedroom unit with plenty of space inside and out to enjoy. Please note that the second bedroom is locked and is only available to guests where there are 3 or more staying.

There is a one bedroom unit downstairs that may be occupied during your stay.

We have been busy improving our offering during the Covid19 shutdown period including.
1. new colourbond roof extra thick insulation to help deal with the summer heat.
2. new expanded dedicated vehicle undercover carport with high clearance, for one vehicle.
3. full repaint inside.
4. expanding the second upstairs bedroom, removing the two single beds and replacing them with a queen bed and installing a ceiling fan.
5. new outdoor shower and extensive landscaping of the front of the house.
6. sanding back and re oiling the upstairs outdoor dining table.

We endeavour to give our guests that personal touch and care to ensure that you have the best possible holiday experience. We are contactable and available to provide you with assistance for the whole duration of your stay. Eclectic Paradise is our preferred holiday destination, and are continually adding to and improving the facilities on offer. Guests have full use of the entire property including outdoor areas and gardens.

We have owned this property, one of the first properties to be built in Bambara street since June 1999. It has been updated sympathetically ,maintaining many of its original 1960's decore and features, with a contemporary twist. Ceiling and wall fans have been installed throughout the house for cool comfort. If you want to stay in a clean and well presented roomy authentic rustic older style 1960's beach house with many of the original features of that era in a fantastic eastern beachside location, then our property will fit the bill.

We have native Australian wildlife visiting our property on a regular basis including a large variety of birds, goannas, kangaroos and wallabies, koalas, possums, bandicoots,goannas, echidnas, lizards, butterflies and more. The golden wallaby, endemic to straddie occasionally visits, look out for them

Straddie is a pristine wilderness and there is plenty of wildlife you will have a good chance of seeing in or near our house such a kangaroos, koalas, plovers, curlews, kookaburas and many different types of honeyeaters. In the ocean, whales, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, sharks, manta rays and many different types of fish and coral. The snorkelling is good as the water is so clear. Being one of Queensland's premier holiday locations, Straddie can become busy with holiday makers during school holiday periods. There are other holiday homes located in Bambara street. However Bambara street is a small street, it has little road traffic even during busy holiday periods.

The property is a large two bedroom two level renovated original Straddie apartment situated in a perfect central location on the ocean side of the main road in quiet leafy Bambara street. The property is within comfortable walking distance to all major beaches, headland walks, whale watching platforms, shops and eateries without having to cross any busy main roads.

The property is fully screened and has 2 bedrooms, One bathrooms+powder room, a fully stocked kitchen and a separate large all weather outdoor living area, sleeps up to 4 people. The property can accommodate 4 people in comfort with space for all without having to trip over each other. We supply linen and towels, they will be placed on the beds, if they are not on the beds, Linen and bath towels are stored in a cupboard located in the laundry, so help yourself. It is up to the guest to make their own beds. We prove bath towels and bath mats but not beach towels, please bring your own beach towels.

Straddie being an island is surrounded by warm ocean waters rarely gets very cold, Winter temperatures here tend to average 21 degrees during the day and 11 degrees at night. Also summers tend to be mild with maximums rarely going above 30 degrees.

Upstairs - Sleeps 4:
a) Large south west facing covered deck with an outside setting for up to 8 people and a Weber q bbq.
b) Lounge room has an 8 seater comfy lounge, 49 inch Smart TV, samsung soundbar and premium Foxtel IQ4 and ceiling fan. The dining table seats up to 8.
c) Kitchen has a stove/oven, microwave, and 350litre fridge/freezer. Note that there is no dishwasher in either kitchen.
d) Two master bedrooms, both with Queen beds. Both rooms have built in cupboards and a ceiling fan for cool comfort.
e) There is also a Powder Room with toilet behind the lounge area upstairs.
f) Please note that there is no central heating or cooling for the property, but there are ceiling fans in the lounge and master bedroom, and lots of windows for ventilation. there is an oil heater in each room.

b) The main bathroom for the apartment is equipped with a toilet, shower, vanity unit and half length mirror is located downstairs behind the laundry.

Outside:
The property is surrounded by a large garden with extensive grassy areas and flowerbeds full of local native species selected to attract bird life and butterflies.
a) There is an outdoor shower out the front of the house.
b) There is covered carparking for one vehicle, there is plenty of on street parking in front of the property. Please do not park on the garden or any grassesd areas.
e) There is an outdoor setting in the back garden.

Straddie is truly unique with water that is as clear a glass and over 96% of the island is still in it's natural state with abundant wildlife. Yet it is only 50km from the centre of Australia's third largest city. Straddie has numerous natural attractions including:

1. Main Beach - Open Beach, good surfing when weather is calm. South Gorge is a lovely protected narrow inlet that is ideal for swimming in calm conditions.
2. Cylinder Beach - Protected beach
3. Deadman's Beach - Protected Beach
4. Frenchman's Beach (Our closest Beach) - Good surf beach
5. Blue Lake - Clear freshwater swimming. 3km walk in from the road to reach the lake.
6. Brown Lake - The name does not do it justice, Clean freshwater swimming with water lightly coloured with tea tree tannins that give it a tea like look.
7. The Keyholes - Clean freshwater swimming (behind the Main Beach sand dunes)
8. Amity Point for an excellent fishing option.
9. Home Beach - Protected Beach
10. Flinder's Beach - Open Beach
11. Drive 40km to Jumpinpin, only for the 4wd enthusiast. En-route there are superb fishing options, accessible from Main beach.
12. Scuba Diving at Flat rock, Shag Rock and Manta Bombie for spectacular dives with sharks, manta rays and spectacular underwater scenery. See Manta Lodge and Scuba for more information.
13. Headland and Gorge Walks. Walk high along the ridge all the way from Deadmans Beach all the way to Main beach via the Gorge Walk. Approximate total length is 5km. Our house is 30m from the walk on the section overlooking Frenchman's Beach. You can easily take a longer walk by continuing from Deadman's Beach through to Adder Rock and Flinders Beach in the west and/or continuing the walk south along Main Beach.
14. When the sea is dead calm and it's safe, snorkelling along the rock wall at south gorge is fabulous - for experienced swimmers and free divers only. It is important to note that at times there can be a strong rip current running along the wall seaward, so please always check the sea conditions are safe before entering the surf.

Lastly, there are a number of beaches on straddie that are unpatrolled and you swim there at your own risk. Bear this in mind before you enter the water and ensure you only swim in these areas if you are an experienced and strong surf swimmer. It is you who are responsible for your own safety. If in doubt do not enter the water. People have drown on some of our unpatrolled beaches. Take particular care at Frenchmans beach.

There are plenty of choice swimming, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving options at straddie.

RUBBISH BINS: Please make sure that both bins are placed kerbside on Sunday night ready for collection on Monday morning.

FOXTEL: Can be temperamental, so please make sure you turn on the TV first using the TV remote then FOXTEL second, using the FOXTEL remote. Use the FOXTEL remote to change channels and set the volume etc.

LINEN and BATH TOWELS: Will be provided by us and will be placed on each bed. Please do not take our bath towels down to the beach.

BBQ: There are electric BBQ facilities located in the parks at both Main Beach the Lookout and Cylinder beach. Due to issues with insurance we do not provide gas BBQ facilities on site.

COFFEE MACHINE: We provide a NESPRESSO coffee machine but do not provide Pods. Please purchase your own Pods and bring them along.

CEILING FANS: These are remotely controlled and each remote is set to a particular fan. Please do not mix up or loose the remotes. They are best left in their caddies on the wall. The remotes for the fans take A23 batteries. The TV and Video remotes take triple A batteries.

FRIDGES: Please do not adjust the fridge temperature settings. They should be OK as they are at mid level settings. (3 or 4 out of 7).

SEPTIC SYSTEM: Our property is not sewered, it has a septic system. So please do not put anything through the toilets other than human waste and toilet paper. Please refrain from putting oil and grease down the sink. Put the oil into a container and place it into the bin
