This apartment is built with love. We stay here ourselves every time we visit, meaning we have excellent local knowledge. It is newly furbished and well equipped. The location is right in the heart of the bustling town of Aluthgama and it backs onto the railway (which, if noisy at times, gives you excellent people watching and a real insight into local life). If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable apartment without paying over the odds, then this is the perfect place for you.

In the local area, there is excellent WaterSports Centres, including Sunshine WaterSports and Malu Banna. There are plenty of small shops to wonder around, buy gifts and haglle over prices. The local Market is just around the corner. The Large KandeVihara Temple is a sight to see, with a giant Buddha and a memorial to the Tsunami. The beach is a short walk, tuk tuk or boat ride across the river. You can also go a little further afield and explore the beautiful Brief Gardens where the Architect Geoffrey Bawa spent his days. For a more relaxing day, a river boat trip is highly recommended.
