At the edge of the idyllic hamlet of Edwinsford and the historic ruins of Edwinsford Estate sat deep within the rolling Carmarthenshire countryside, the far reaching valley view makes this the perfect retreat in which to relax and enjoy your surroundings.
The Mews was originally part of The Edwinsford Estate which dates back to the 1680s. Built by Sir Rice Williams the High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire, this was once the former stables for the estate. One of 4 cottages in this location, The Mews is set midway between the villages of Talley and Llansawel and is around 15 minutes’ drive to the market town of Llandeilo, with its plethora of boutique shops, galleries and eateries specialising in locally sourced produce and locally brewed ales.
The Mews is all on the first floor and has been designed to take in those great views, and is one of two cottages at the location. This lovely property has been thoughtfully furnished throughout and offers open plan living, dining and kitchen areas with exposed stone walls and original beams, perfect for socialising whilst cooking that special meal. Each bedroom has been lovingly furnished, with the master suite offering en-suite facilities. Enjoy shared use of a sitting out area near the river on those balmy summer days with a glass of wine and a good book - keep an eye out for the wandering pheasants and geese nearby.
Take a trip to the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Black Mountains where you will discover some truly epic sights and vistas which include the Brecon Beacons’ highest mountain Pen y Fan, where you can discover a host of wildlife, some fantastic walks for all abilities and mountain biking. The Brechfa Forest also offers a number of great trails for cyclists. The Dolaucothi Gold Mines make for a memorable visit and are managed by the National Trust. Shop 8 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
