Park-like setting! A bright basement apartment at the edge of a creek-fed pond, where you can sit and relax, fish, listen to the birds and frogs, and take in the close range mountain view!

It’s a peaceful setting where you can return home from your adventures and relax, cook a meal, and Netflix and chill!

If you love quiet, but also being close to the city, you will love Pond’s Edge Retreat!

It is 3.5 miles from I40 and about 15-20 minutes to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, River Arts, shopping, and all that the Asheville area has to offer!

The space is unique because it’s a basement apartment that sits below our long-term tenants. (There is no access to the apartment from above).

The garage and basement was once a bait and tackle store for the pond. In the 1950’s they held carp fishing tournaments here! There are still very large carp in the pond! You can often see them at the top of the water on a sunny day! There’s also plenty of bass! And we even have Marky the Musk Rat that has been living in the pond for about 8 years now!

Other wildlife we often see in the yard: groundhogs, turkeys, ducks, hummingbirds, the occasional deer and yes, even a bear on occasion. So please do not leave any food or garbage outside that will unintentionally invite him to your cookout! Ha!

You are more than welcome to fish with your own gear, as long as you release them so we have plenty for the next guest to catch! Lol.

**NOTES**

There is NO cable or satellite, only streaming services on the smart TV’s. You must have your own streaming accounts to log into.

The thermostat is controlled by the upstairs tenant. They keep it on 72 year round. But since it is a basement, it tends to be a little cooler down there. There is auxiliary heat to use if you are too cool or you are welcome to open windows.

Fishing is allowed and encouraged, however, gear is not provided... you’ll need to bring your own.

There is a flat bottom boat for use AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you do not swim or are not comfortable with steering a small boat, please use caution or refrain from using the water activities.

Our tenants upstairs have their own canoe by the pond as well. It is not for public use. Please only use the green flat bottom boat.

QUIET HOURS: 9pm - 7am.
Because this is a multi-family home, you will hear a normal amount of noise, walking and some talking (and they might hear you as well). Please be aware of your noise level at all times, but especially after 9pm. Keep the TV or music at the lowest volume that is still comfortable for you to hear. We want both you and our tenant to have peace during your stay. Thank you for understanding.

Acesso do hóspede
You have full private access to the apartment and your patio and deck area. The garage belongs to the upstairs tenants.

The pond and pavilion area is community use for you and the upstairs tenants. We own another Airbnb across the street, and we do allow those guests to fish in the pond as well.

**NOTE: there is a green flat bottom boat you may use in the pond. However no other boat or equipment that you may see on the property is for your use (it belongs to the upstairs tenants).

Outras observações
One quirky thing about this unit is that the AC and heat thermostat is located in the upstairs unit. However, our tenants keep the temperature at 72 year round - summer and winter.

Because it’s a basement, it does tend to feel a little cooler down there. So, there is auxiliary heat that you can control if it feels too chilly for you. There are also several windows and a sliding glass door that can be opened if you prefer the outside air!

PARKING:
It’s very important to always park on the right side of the driveway so as not to block our tenants in or you get blocked in by them. There is plenty of space for up to two cars to park on the right side.

Pond’s Edge is located at the end of the street in a cove. There are a few neighbors, but not many... and 1 of them is another Airbnb that we own. It’s right across the street!

When the pavement ends, it becomes a dirt/gravel road and there are only 3 or 4 people that live beyond the pavement.

We have close range mountain views as well as long range views on a clear day!

In the spring and summer you see lots of green as you look outside and most neighbors are not in eye shot from the rental.

We love the closeness of town, but the secluded feeling you have there!
