Although listed as 'entire flat', (closest airbnb listing option), the beautifully stylish accommodation consists of two bedrooms (a very large double and a smaller pretty twin), a sitting room (with small dining table), and a lovely bathroom. There is no kitchen, but a microwave is available if required. It is on the top floor of our house, separated by its own door.
We are 3 miles west of Ludlow in idyllic and peaceful surroundings with far-reaching views to Wenlock Edge and the Long Mynd.

O espaço
Nina runs a well-known Decorative Antiques shop in Ludlow and this is reflected in the stylish furnishing of the apartment. Onde você estará

Bromfield, Reino Unido

The Poles is set amid the undulating hills of South Shropshire, beneath a wooded chase where Tudor princes hunted.
The 250 year old stone farmhouse lies in a secluded valley of the River Teme, three miles west of the ancient hill town and borough of Ludlow.
Ludlow, founded in the 12th century, still exists within its original walls and mediaeval grid around the great Marcher castle from where, for centuries, the border between England and Wales was monitored. There are an alleged 500 listed buildings in Ludlow including Broad Street, the finest residential street in Britain, and one of the original portcullis gates. Overlooking an astonishing variety of mediaeval, timber-framed and Georgian architecture is the soaring tower of St Laurence’s splendid perpendicular church. Ludlow has a (mostly) deserved reputation as a ‘foodie’ destination. It contains four entries in the Guide Michelin, one with a * (Mr Underhill’s¬ – heartily recommended). There are also several good pubs which serve acceptable food (and several which do not – we can advise). The standard of food shops – butchers, fishmongers, bakers, greengrocers, delis – is exceptionally high. On four days a week an outstanding open market is held in Castle Square; on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month a local produce market is held and, every other Sunday, a well-known flea market which draws punters from all over the region.
Ludlow is a wonderful English town in which to tarry, linger, browse, sluice and wander. It is an hour and a bit’s walk, twenty-five minutes’ cycle ride and ten minutes drive from The Poles. The Poles is an ideal centre for exploring the history and landscape of the region. There is direct access to miles of pathways and bridleways across the Mortimer Forest, including the well-conceived Mortimer Trail - a walking route from Ludlow to the fine old Herefordshire market town of Kington. A local riding stable offers treks through the forest; there are numerous spectacular walks and opportunities for wild swimming in the River Teme.
In the villages nearby there are still, mercifully, several traditional pubs, and an inexhaustible choice of historic houses, hill forts and castles to visit. Downton Castle, C18th product of the romantic fantasies of idiosyncratic aesthete and ‘Picturesque’ landscaper, Richard Payne Knight, lies in a secluded valley just two miles from The Poles (visible, but not visitable). The great C8th earth dyke, built under King Offa of Mercia as a border between Celtic Wales and Saxon Mercia, is ten miles west and easily accessible to walkers There are, throughout the year, a number of local festivals – cultural, musical & gastronomic. Hay-on-Wye is a pretty forty-five minute drive away, near enough when rooms are hard to find during the Hay Festival. Ludlow has its own Arts Festival in June, now under new directorship and looking quite promising, as well as two Food Festivals and the quaint, quirky Mediaeval Christmas Fayre held within the Castle in late November.
