  • An old photo of the cottage that we found in the house when we started to renovate it.
  • The kitchen, showing the stove.
  • The living room. The sofa has a pull-out bed that can sleep two people.
  • The bedroom.
  • The kitchen, showing the cooker and other units.
  • This is the layout of the house.
  • This is the house as it is today. The stone shed at the front is disused, and the house for rent is the one behind it.
  • Another old photo that we found in the house.
  • This is the view of Ireland's tallest mountain from the lakeshore near the house.
  • Carrauntoohill, Ireland's tallest mountain is across the lake.
  • Feel free to chop some wood if you enjoy that kind of thing :)
  • We have started clearing out one of the sheds for storing wood. The house is heated by a central wood stove in the kitchen.
  • The lake is actually much bigger than this pic would have you believe. It stretches around the back of the mountain for a few kms.
  • Looking towards the lake from the front door of the house. We could cut some trees to make a great view but we didn't really want to. It's nicer to stroll down and hang out by the lake shore.
  • Looking back towards the house with my back to the lake.
  • These are the outer sheds and yard, which are still a work-in-progress!
  • The house is on the right of this pic.
  • There's plenty of cool dragon flies about in summer!
  • There's a peat bog about 200 metres from the house and this is the view from there.
