The rural neighbourhood is quiet; rabbits, ducks & pukeko on the lawn. The tui dawn bird song is wonderful.

Living a quiet rural lifestyle with my partner on a three acre property - refugees from the Film and Television Industry - we run also run a small farmlet raising beef and sheep. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and want to share our little cottage and the simplicity of our lifestyle. Guest Review: June 2013 "A beautiful little cottage in a peaceful setting whilst not being too far away from civilisation! Well equipped kitchen and lovely little extras like cakes, wine and flowers. Would definitely recommend." Guest Review: May 2013 "The Totara Grove was a lovely place to stay. The cottage was just gorgeous and I think would be the perfect place for a couple to spend their honeymoon. The location is great too - you really feel like you've gotten away from the hustle and bustle of city/town life even though it's not miles out. We will definitely be booking in again in the summer :-)" Libby, Manawatu Guest Review: April 2013 "Very relaxing rural setting, exceeded expectations with a well equipped kitchen for self catering. Would recommend to anyone and would look to stay again" Reuben & Alice, Wellington Guest Review: Feb 2013 "We stayed two nights in Pip and Waka's lovely cottage on our way north after a Wellington visit. The cottage is perfectly located if you want to get out of Wellington in the afternoon and seek to have a rural experience on the way. Nice, tidy and a bit quaint the cottage is set in a lovely garden, with ample privacy from the main house. Although newly established, the garden has an "old-world" feel to it - very nice. A great place from which to explore the Kapiti Coast, both beach and bush. The cottage is clean and tidy - and it has all the amenities you need. Pip and Waka are friendly, respectful and helpful hosts. We would stay here again and are happy to recommend this stay to friend." Sven and Julia. Whakatane & New York Guest Review: Dec 2012 "One of the most beautiful places on the whole of the North Island, the Totara Grove Cottage provided us a wonderful and relaxing stay. The nearby Otaki Forks Gorge and Tararua Range are just up the road… and that big, wide sandy beach is only ten minutes away. The owners were great and made our holiday absolutely fantastic! What more can one ask for? Oh yeah… if you are lucky you just might get a taste of Pip's homemade jams. yummmm. Can't wait to come back." Richard and JaVayne Jenkins Boulder Colorado
