“This 200 years old family owned confectionery is in the Buda Castle. Have a big walk on Tóth Árpád sétány and than taste some of the wonderful traditional Hungarian desserts here! In the summer time I have to take my daughter Lulu (3) to have ice cream here every day:-)”

“This is the perfect place if you want to taste some French pastries. You can find different À Table bakeries in Budapest (in Pest and Buda side). That’s ideal if you want to have breakfast : croissant, pain au chocolat, croque-madame,... All we love in French pastries!”

“This brand-new bakery, found on District XIII’s Pozsonyi Street, quickly became the favorite hangout of the neighborhood’s residents. Három Tarka Macska’s palatable pastries, such as baguettes, red wine-flavored snacks, cocoa rolls, and loaves of bread, are made by a French baker, and quickly sell out every day. However, we can always come early for a sandwich, or an egg-based meal for breakfast. Három Tarka Macska is definitely one of the best bakeries in town.”

“The best bagel shop in Budapest as far as Street & River are concerned. Fantastic fare, and you can even get coffee or juice spritzers. Very budget friendly, and they tend to have good music to boot. Hipstery to a tee, so don't be surprised by the service. Highly recommended to start your day off.”

“BITE Bakery Café opened on Nyugati Square in 2013 proffering pretzels, tasty rolls topped with mascarpone, and delicious coffee concoctions; stepping inside, enticing scents welcome visitors, and the counter is full of generously filled, additive-free pastries. Since the opening, BITE has also introduced pretzel sandwiches, salty pies, and homemade muesli to their repertoire. The selection boasts pretzels, tasty rolls generously filled with mascarpone, and delicious coffee concoctions. We recommend to try all of the pretzel variations from plain to bacon and cheese-sausage. Furthermore, guests can also taste delicious cocoa rolls in various sizes.”
