“One of nature's wonders, it's a must see while in Colorado Springs. We highly recommend going by bike or vintage scooter as parking is a challenge during the Summer months. You can rent a low-power scooter from Vintage Scooter Adventures which is located at The Garden of the Gods Trading Post, 324 Beckers Lane, Manitou Springs, CO. Fun times, great rates, wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend!”

“Stratton Open Space offers 318 acres of open space, trails, and wildlife habitat for Colorado Springs. Next, to North Cheyenne Canon, the Stratton Open Space offers five distinct ecosystems, miles of trails, a rich variety of wildlife, and access to the Pike National Forest. You can walk or bike from my Airbnb to Stratton using a secrete trail that runs past the highschool. World-class trails without having to drive and adventures from 2 miles to 43 miles. When you stay with me I'll give you a map of the secret trail and tunnel. ”

“This is my favorite hike in the Colorado Springs area. It’s a little over 3 miles, which I find to be the perfect length. Should take about 2 hrs. It’s also of moderate difficulty so most tourists should be able to do it despite being at high elevation. It’s also one of the more scenic hikes. The catch is, microspikes are almost necessary in the winter months. The hike can be done without microspikes but there are a lot of icy areas where you’ll have to be careful and move slowly.”

“The crisp air and smell of the ponderosa pines give a distinctive feeling to this 385-acre regional park. There are spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range. The developed area, with turf playfields, tennis courts, playground, and two picnic pavilions were created in natural openings of the forest. ”

“This is a nice way to spend the day outdoors. Seven bridges trail head breaks out into several different trails for all levels of hikers. Wear hiking boots or shoes with decent tread. In the summer thunderstorms can roll in fast, so I recommend being down the mountains by 2pm.”
