Mercado
“Featuring a neoclassical style, the building of Mercado de la Bretxa was finished in 1870. On the western side of the building (outside), farmers from the countryside offer fresh products and veggies on their colorful stands. In the inside, head downstairs to find a variety of stands/shops with the best local products. There's a LIDL, a budget supermarket for daily shopping.”

Island
“The beach of this little island is very small and it dissapears when the tide is up, but it is a nice place to go. There is a little bar, but you'd better take something to eat and drink with you. If you want to go to the island, you have to get the boat in the port.”

Route
“The city was burnt down more than two centuries ago as a fatal consequence of the War of Spanish Independence, being 'Calle 31 de agosto', the only street in town which survived the fires. Consequently, it's the oldest street in town, in between the two oldest churches in town too. Each 31st of August locals remember that horror day with a touching ceremony coming down from 'Monte Urgüll'. You'll find so much of the history of the city among the stone facades of the street. Full of pintxo bars & restaurants, it is one of the main hotspots of the Old Town”

“Great breads, including the best croissants in town - and decent coffee to take away. They also have a nice selection of grab and go sandwiches in the summer.”

Theme Park
“Built in 1912, this amusement park still preserves the essence of that period. At the top off Monte Igeldo, you can either go by car or by a lovely old funicular. Low fees apply for access to the park and for each attraction. Among very old and funny games and attractions, do not miss a ride in 'Montaña Suiza' and enjoy spectacular views of dramatic cliffs. Enjoy probably the best views over the bay and the city thus do not forget a camera to immortalise magic moments we're sure you are going to live in this place.”
