“The Sarah P Duke gardens is a large area just outside the Duke Campus with so much to see. You can walk anywhere and see beautiful plants, ponds, etc. We bring a lunch, find a nice spot and have a picnic while our kids explore. There are only a few bathrooms and there is duck food available at the visitors center. (No Food or water for sale unless the snack shack happens to be open)”

“If you are willing to venture a little further, Southpoint is a very popular shopping venue for our area. It blends the traditional mall (like Crabtree) with a street lined shopping experience as well. There are many restaurants, shops, theaters, and even an IMAX. ”

“An original in every sense of the word. One of the earliest breweries on the Durham scene, it's been a neighborhood staple since 2010. You can't go wrong with any of their award winning beers but I'm currently loving the Durham 150.”

“Take a walk around Duke University. Duke's campus spans over 8,600 acres on three contiguous campuses in Durham. The main campus incorporates Gothic architecture with the 210-foot (64-meter) Duke Chapel at the campus' center and highest point of elevation. East Campus, home to all first-years, contains Georgian-style architecture, while the main Gothic-style West Campus 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) away is adjacent to the Medical Center. ”
