Surrounded by nothing but acres of fields filled with wildlife, College Farm Cottage is a charming 18th Century child- and dog-friendly* property, sleeping 3 guests in 2 bed-rooms with 1 bathroom. A short drive from the Cotswold towns of Burford and Lechlade, College Farm Cottage is perfect for guests seeking open space and tranquillity, with plenty of walking routes quite literally on your doorstep.
*Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction Low hedges, acres of flat green fields and an abundance of wildlife – these are the scenes that will greet you as you head towards College Farm Cottage. Situated on the expansive Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, it’s hard to im-agine that you are only a few miles from Burford and Lechlade. As you make your way along the open fence-less lanes, you will almost feel as though you’re driving through the middle of the fields. Once you have arrived at the end of the farm track, you will find a delightful cottage with plenty of character – if you’re visiting in the summer months, you’ll even get to appreciate College Farm Cottage in all of its beautiful Wiste-ria–covered glory. College farm was built in 1771 by Trinity College of the University of Oxford for the use of tenant farmers as a source of additional income for the college. A working farm up until recent years, College Farm is now owned by the Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park that exhibits over 260 different species of ani-mals – on a quiet day you may even be able to hear the lions roaring from the cottage! Although College Farm is no longer a working farm, it is surrounded by mainly arable farmland, all of which is organic. With a strong emphasis on conservation around the estate, there is plenty of wildlife to observe, from ground nesting birds to deer. You only have to step outside of the door at College Farm Cottage and you are right in the heart of unspoilt countryside, with bridle paths and walking routes running alongside the farmyard. Inside, the cottage is a lovely mix of traditional and new. The original flagstone flooring and woodburner add a touch of rustic charm, while there’s a new JVC Smart TV for guest use. Benefitting from a bright and airy feeling throughout, the cottage is decorat-ed in neutral tones, accented by quirky pops of colour and unique pieces of art and furniture. The back door opens out into a garden, while the windows boast views of nothing but green fields and the historic farmyard buildings. If you’re looking for peace, tranquillity and open starry skies, you’ve come to the right place. Despite its rural location, College Farm Cottage is just a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful market town of Burford, where you will find artisan boutiques, cosy cafés, and interesting pubs. Walk to the top of the High Street and look back down the hill to enjoy one of the most exquisite views in the Cotswolds – and perhaps the finest ‘streetscape’ in England! Full Description Ground Floor Enter through the front door straight into the… Sitting Room A bright and spacious living space, the Sitting Room has a wonderful quintessential country cottage feel to it. The original flagstone flooring is a characterful feature of this property, eve-ry stone is individual and unique. The Sitting Room boasts some beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork, adding eccentric and colourful highlights to a lovely relaxing room. There is a JVC Smart TV for guests to use, as well as a selection of books and games on the built-in shelves next to the fireplace. The WIFI router can be found in the Sitting Room window. To the left of the entrance to the Kitchen there is a latched cupboard. In here you will find an ironing board, iron, high chair, clothes airer and a mop & bucket. Through the door into the… Kitchen A well-equipped and pretty room, the Kitchen has a table and seating for 3 guests. En-joy breakfast looking out through the mustard yellow linen curtained window into the farmyard and fields beyond. With a cooker, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, oven, wash-ing machine, and cupboard filled with crockery and utensils, guests staying at College Farm Cottage are completely set up for cooking and dining in. There is a door leading from the Kitchen into the garden to the rear of the cottage. Through the Sitting Room and up the stairs. Please take care on the stairs as they are very steep and narrow. With a comfortable king size bed and its own washbasin, guests staying in the Master Bedroom will appreciate the generous storage space provided by the built-in shelved wardrobe (where the travel cot is stored) and chest of drawers, as well as the beautiful views over the farmyard and fields. The cupboard next to the bed contains the water heater. Turn right into the… Single Bedroom Perfect for children, this compact single bedroom has plenty of storage thanks to the inbuilt wardrobe, and a comfortable single bed right next to the window overlooking the farmyard and fields beyond. Outside The garden of College Farm Cottage can be accessed via the back door from the Kitch-en. A great space for children to play or to even enjoy a BBQ or drink in the sun, the private garden is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the country-side, except for maybe the occasional lion roar…
Benefitting from the best of both worlds, College Farm Cottage enjoys a secluded location but is also the perfect location for exploring Burford and the wider Cotswolds. Please see the framed OS map in the sitting room where College Farm sits exactly cen-trally. In just a 5-10 minute drive you will find yourself on the High Street of Burford, a stunning medieval market town with plenty to offer. The excellent Co-operative su-permarket on the High Street stocks all immediate shopping requirements and is open 7am – 10pm every day of the week. There is also a Co-operative supermarket in Lech-lade, a 5-10 minute drive in the opposite direction to Burford, open 8am-8pm every day. There are some great cafés in Burford. Head towards the historic church and you will discover the newly built Warwick Hall and café, ideal for a morning coffee and snacks. Another good spot for a reviving cup of coffee or tea is Lynwood & Co on the High Street, where you can also buy delicious local artisan-made Sourdough bread and of course the famous Huffkins tea shop. If you find yourself parking in the main car park for Burford near the church (free parking) you will cross the mill-race connecting to the charming River Windrush that meanders through the Cotswolds, a lovely spot to feed the ducks and swans! Burford used to be a major coaching town between London and the West Country and was home to 35 coaching inns! The town still retains 13 pubs, of which some favour-ites are The Angel, a very good gastropub, The Highway and The Lamb on Sheep Street. There’s also a great variety of specialist shops to explore – including Maggie White and the fascinating Tolsey Museum. Alternatively, The Victoria in Eastleach, a very pretty Cotswold village nearby, is about an hour walk from the cottage and is a wonderful pub with good food, recommended by Emma and William. Also highly recommended - The Five Alls in Filkins and The Bell in Langford, both excellent pubs. All are popular so booking is essential. Around 5 miles south of the cottage, you will find Lechlade-on-Thames, a small historic town on the Thames, from which London could be reached by boat. With plenty of walks, a thriving market square, pubs, cafes and antique shops, Lechlade is slightly off the beaten tourist track compared to Burford and makes for a great day out. Here you will find a fantastic butcher, Cutler & Bayliss, selling high quality meat, cheese, fresh vegetables and bread as well as another Lynwood & Co café. If you fancy exploring a bit further afield, the beautiful ancient Roman market town of Cirencester is about 10 miles south and also there’s Witney which is an easy 11-mile drive east towards Oxford. Like Cirencester it has a great array of high street shops, larger supermarkets such as M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, eateries and a modern cinema complex. Also, around 15 miles away is the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm in Kingham, a farm complex that offers a farm shop, restaurant, spa as well as other activities such as farm tours and cooking courses. See the Burford Guidebook for further information.

  • Esta é uma casa linda em uma localização muito tranquila, mas ainda perto de muitas coisas maravilhosas para fazer, pubs e passeios. A cozinha tinha tudo o que precisávamos. A mobília é elegante e muito boa qualidade. Encontramos a cama extremamente confortável.

Obrigado!

Welcome to Fairholme, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Fairholme is a wonderful Grade II listed property which sleeps four guests, in two elegant bedrooms, with a spacious family bathroom. Dating back to the 17th century, this Cotswold stone property has retained lovely character features including exposed beams, an exposed Cotswold stone chimney breast and a large fireplace in the living room with a roaring real fire. These period features have been complemented by stylish furnishings and modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a Freeview TV and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a pretty garden to the rear of the property and free on-street parking is available close by. Fairholme is located in the picturesque town of Northleach, an unspoilt town which boasts a number of independent shops, restaurants and pubs, including The Wheatsheaf Inn which is just a stone’s throw from the property itself. The town prospered during the Cotswold wool trade and this funded the impressive 15th century church of St Peter and St Paul. Every Wednesday, locals and tourists alike come to the town for the open-air market which showcases local produce, and the annual Northleach Charter Fair and Music Festival in June is a wonderful event for all ages. On the outskirts of the town sits Stowell Park, a private estate whose stunning gardens are open to the public during the months of May and June each year, offering fine views over the Coln Valley and displaying gorgeous flowers. Northleach is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many cycle routes and walking trails on its doorstep to explore. It is also well placed for visiting the other lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds, including Cirencester, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chedworth, home to the Roman Villa which is owned by the National Trust. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach for day trips. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!

This room contains a large Cotswold stone fireplace with real fire, a two-seater sofa and two armchairs, Freeview TV, glass dining table which comfortably seats four, two window seats and a small selection of books and games; Kitchen: The modern kitchen is ideal for home cooking and contains an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and cafetière. Stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: With a high ceiling and elegant furnishings, this beautiful room contains a double bed, built-in wardrobe and small chest of drawers, a comfy chair and a wall mirror; Bedroom 2: Overlooking the street below, this well presented room has an exposed Cotswold stone chimney breast and contains a 4ft double bed, a small chest of drawers and hanging shelf for storage and an ornamental fireplace; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. The communal passageway leads out onto a garden path which gently climbs up alongside the neighbour’s garden before arriving at a wooden gate signposted ‘Fairholme’. The enclosed garden is mostly laid to lawn with a rockery at the far end and mature trees and shrubs at its borders. This tranquil area houses an outdoor table with seating for four, a parasol and a charcoal barbecue, making it a delightful space to relax in the warmer weather. There is a secure garden shed which has space to store up to two bicycles. Free on-street parking is available at the front of the property.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

There are many walks close by including the Cotswold Way. We are the next village along from the beautiful Sherborn Estate, where Springwatch and Autumn watch were filmed. I have one double bedroom with double bed with private bathroom. There is free parking.
The Barn is situated on the edge of the village of Windrush. It is very quiet and tranquil. There are far reaching views from the house and garden. It would make an ideal retreat for artists. It is close to the beautiful Cotswold town of Burford and only 3.1 miles away from Stone Barn a popular wedding venue. It is 1 mile off the A40 which makes it ideal for sightseeing around Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. We are only 20 miles from the famous Cheltenham Race course. We are 8 miles from Bourton on the Water otherwise known as the Little Venice of the Cotswolds.
Windrush is a beautiful Cotswold village with a church and a village hall where many functions are held. The National Trust Sherborne Estate is one mile away where there is a thriving shop with a cafe which sells delicious coffee and cakes. There are walks all over Sherborne Estate. There is a Pub at Little Barrington which is one mile away which serves delicious food.

Not a modern house in sight! Just a clutch of pretty cottages, a medieval village square and church – a Cotswolds bubble of peace. The Guggle is quirky, there's a classic cottagey beamed sitting room with an inglenook fireplace, games, well-thumbed Penguins, sofas to relax on... it's a homely space for families. The hub is a light airy kitchen where you pull up a pew at an eight seater table; and look out to the west-facing enclosed cottage garden, perfect for for al fresco meals and run-around space for the kids. For a first night or treat, order locally cooked pies and crumbles: delicious. There are four pretty bedrooms. Up a spiral staircase (not suitable for the elderly or infirm) to the first floor there are two beamed bedrooms which share a shower room, upstairs to the second floor there is a beamed master bedroom with en suite bathroom, a further double bedroom room and en suite shower room is on the ground floor. You can stroll to the pubs and shops in the village, cycle along the Cotswold lanes, walk along beautiful pathways or drive to National Trust houses and gardens Chedworth Roman Villa, Sherborne Lodge.
The quirkiness of the cottage, it's very old c.1600 so expect low beams, spiral staircases (carpeted), exposed cotswold stone walls, and the unique Guggle room, a domed Cotswold stone room, with original 1700 wall painting.
One of the Cotswolds 'forgotten' towns, with lovely places to eat and drink, bakers, butchers and village shop

This is a detached conversion which you have to yourselves. The beautifully renovated Grade II Listed stable, in a quintessential Cotswold village, has a cosy fire in a spacious living area. There's a large bedroom with wardrobe, and a modern ensuite shower. Local walks are on the doorstep, close to attractions such as Sherborne Park (National Trust), Burford, Bibury and Stone Barn.
Underfloor heating downstairs, and woodburner with a basket of wood provided. Tea, coffee, milk and snacks are provided in the kitchen. There is a microwave for cooking (no oven or hob) but we can cook meals for you and deliver to the door during the Corona crisis. We recommend cookfood.net.
Fabulous local shop/tea room in the next village. Pub also within walking distance.

Planters Studio is a delightful countryside retreat, 1st floor galleried bedroom & bathroom has a very comfortable cast iron 4-poster double bed within an oak framed roof. Downstairs is a modern fully equipped kitchen, eating and sitting area including a sofa bed. A Welcome Pack is provided. A cot is available on request. Dogs/pets are welcome - charge £5/night/pet. The Studio has its own front door, there is a private patio garden with BBQ and access to the Beech Hut garden and its garden room.
Guests regularly comment in our guest book that the Studio is comfortable, very well furnished and equipped. The Studio is private and, only if needed, we are near bye to help in any way. The Studio is in a 'Golden Triangle' of rolling Cotswold, largely organic, farmland & countryside. Footpaths, from the Studio, flow directly cross-country into gorgeous villages of Cotswold stone and narrow country lanes or minor roads lead further afield for trips by car to pretty country towns and villages.
This part of the Cotswolds we love particularly because it remains very largely working organic farmland rather than a recognised Cotswold destination - like Burford. The near bye villages without exception are all very attractive, most have a pub that serves food from good to restaurant standard. There is a network of footpaths linking the villages. We are happy to recommend our current favourite restaurants and other places or activities of interest.

The house is situated near Tetbury which is 31 miles from Daisy's Cottage and open to the pubic from 1st May to 30th September on Thursdays and Sundays from 2-5pm. Hidden Acre Hut is a light, spacious Shepherd's Hut, nestled above the village of Ablington near Bibury in the heart of the Cotswolds. Guests can expect a luxurious kingsize bed; an equipped kitchen with all the usual modern facilities eg. coffee machine; an ensuite bathroom with large shower; a TV/DVD player, and a plethora of DVDs and books to borrow. Enjoy breakfast on the decking, looking over your private garden, or relax with a drink in the hot tub with views of the valley below
Anyone who has stayed in a Shepherd's Hut before will understand why it is such a popular concept - imagine your own private (luxury) cabin, equipped with all the mod-cons you need for modern day living, tucked into the hillside in one of the world's most famously beautiful locations. Situated in the neighbouring village to Bibury (a landmark tourist hotspot, renowned for offering a truly quintessential-Cotswold experience), a short drive away from multiple gastro-pubs and minutes away from some of the area's most lusted-after wedding venues, is a little piece of quiet paradise. Switch off your phones (the signal isn't very strong anyway due to our rural location), help yourself to a drink from one of the decanters, and lie back in the wood-fired hot tub, relaxing to the sound of horses in the neighbouring fields and birds coming into roost overhead. Whether you are looking for a romantic get-away, accommodation for a friend's wedding, or a base from which to explore the many treasures of the Cotswolds, we aim to give you a private, comfortable, home-away-from-home that you can enjoy whatever the weather.

If you want to experience the true Cotswolds, why not stay in a typical Cotswold Bothy in the heart of the region, in beautiful Bibury. A totally separate building, with ensure facilities and a lovely King- Sized bed. The Bothy has Tea & Coffee making facilities but no kitchen but fear not, The Catherine Wheel Pub is just across the road and the Four Star Swan Hotel is 500 yards away. Look up the village on the internet, the beauty speaks for itself, plus very handy for the rest of the Cotswolds
It's just a lovely little room, totally separate from my cottage but near enough for any problems. Being in Bibury, it's very handy for other fantastic locations, such as Burford, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Broadway, Bourton-on-the-Water and many more!. The Swan Hotel is about 600 yards away and Cribbs Barn is about 2 miles away and both are very popular wedding venues.

The door in the bedroom that leads to external stairs was originally used by the herdsman who lived above his cattle. The morning sun streams through the door’s window, which can be enjoyed while lying in bed, but curtains are provided should you prefer to keep the light out for a lie in! (This door should only be used in case of fire. Please leave the keys in the door at all times.) Bathroom The elegant ensuite bathroom has a large walk-in shower, with handheld and overhead showerheads, a contemporary wash basin, a dual flush W.C. and a tall heated towel rail. All towels, shampoo and soap are provided for guests. Outside Guests access the property using the owners’ private driveway. Parking space for one car is located to the front of the Bothy. A bench to the side of the front door is provided for guests’ use – a lovely pace to sit and contemplate the day ahead or the day just gone by.
Arlington was first mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and was for centuries a village known for cloth making. Arlington village and Bibury village sit side-by-side, separated by the River Coln, a tributary of the River Thames. The village’s honey coloured cottages are what many visitors regard as quintessential Cotswold, with many visitors making a beeline to the famous Arlington Row cottages, once depicted on the inside cover of every UK passport, and just a minute’s walk from the Bothy. Arlington was also the ancestral birthplace of John Custis II, who emigrated to the Colony of Virginia and named his Virginian mansion "Arlington" after the village. Arlington Mansion was abandoned, but the name was used again by his great-great-grandson, George Washington Parke Custis (the grandson of Martha Washington and step-grandson and adopted son of George Washington, the first President of the United States), as the name for Arlington Estate on the south shore of the Potomac River near what is now Washington, D.C. Today it is known as Arlington National Cemetery. The 19th-century artist and craftsman William Morris called Bibury "the most beautiful village in England" – he probably meant Arlington too!

This gorgeous new development, surrounded by open countryside, is built on the site of the old Westwoods Grammar School, with Rixon Road named after one of the old school houses, itself named after William Augustus Rixon (1858–1948) who was a renowned artist, landowner and Sheriff of Gloucestershire. The historic town of Northleach is just a few minutes’ walk from Hawthorn Cottage and is one of the best surviving examples of a medieval “New Town”. It was built in an area of almost entirely open sheep country by the church and local landowners who wanted to develop a network of markets where rents and levies could be collected! By 1227 the town was granted its market charter and really began to prosper (a market takes place to this day, every Wednesday). The town’s gentry prospered on wool from the famous Cotswold Lion breed, with the architecture of the town, and in particular the church of St Peter and St Paul, reflecting their wealth. With the decline of the wool industry, the town’s fortunes declined, but it picked up again with the development of a coaching route between Wales and London. The route that became the A40 was itself the reason for the second decline in the town’s fortunes with the rush of modern traffic through the town centre. In the 1980s a bypass was constructed, and the town returned to its peaceful market town roots, luckily with many of its historic 15th-, 16th- and 17th-century landmarks still intact for today’s travellers to explore. (See ‘Local Amenities’ below for more details of Northleach, including restaurant recommendations.) If you’d like to explore the well-known historic and natural sights of the Cotswolds –perhaps wander around Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and the grounds of Sudeley Castle or visit Cheltenham Races - yet prefer modern, luxury living to beams and thatched roof tops, look no further than the sumptuously equipped Hawthorn Cottage in the ancient market town of Northleach!

Holly Cottage is a detached, 3-storey property with the perfect combination of character features, including an inglenook fireplace, oak beams and flagstone flooring, alongside modern facilities, which include underfloor heating and Apple TV. A great pub, community shop and walks right from the door. Sleeps 8 guests across 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, with 1 ensuite and a family bathroom. Large, private courtyard garden with covered eating area and barbecue and parking for three cars.
Introduction This picture postcard, early-1800s Cotswold stone cottage has a very welcoming, cosy feel, with its original oak beams, flagstone floors and inglenook fireplace beautifully restored and conserved by the current owners. Holly Cottage is bright and airy too, with modern facilities and plenty of entertaining space provided by the large fully equipped Kitchen, Living-Dining Room, fabulous Garden Room and covered outdoor dining area. The cottage is decorated and furnished in a contemporary style with soft white and grey paintwork, providing the perfect setting for the traditional features and the modern facilities, which include underfloor heating throughout the downstairs area (beneath the flagstone flooring), a Smart TV with Apple TV connection and a DVD player and a fully equipped Kitchen with everything guests need for a self-catered holiday. Eight guests are comfortably accommodated across four bedrooms, including two king-size double rooms, (one can be set up as a twin), 1 twin room (with 2 standard single beds) and 1 standard double. The cottage has a large ensuite to the Master Bedroom, with a shower and bath and a Family Bathroom with a walk-in shower and full size bath. Framed by a front garden stocked with mature bushes, trees, climbing roses and jasmine, Holly Cottage sits on a quiet country lane leading to the 12th Century church of St John the Baptist. The front garden wraps around both sides of the cottage, leading to a large courtyard area with grassy knolls, mature trees and borders, a covered seating area, charcoal barbecue, rotary clothes dryer, a summer house/wood store, and private parking for up to three cars. Coln St Aldwyns is steeped in history, dating back to Roman times. Unusually, and one of the reasons why Coln is such a great find for visitors who want to see the real Cotswolds, there isn’t a modern development in the village, with most of the cottages built in the 17th and 18th Century. Opposite Holly Cottage is a stunning 16th Century manor house, once a home of the wealthy Fettiplace family and a gathering place for non-Conformist thinkers, later becoming part of Hatherop School and later still purchased by Sir Michael Beach Hicks, the 1st Earl St Aldwyns. Just up the lane is the 12th century church and two-minutes’ walk down the lane is the village community store, once the village poor house. Close to the shop is the old bakery and bathhouse, the baths were heated by the bakery’s ovens!

Back to front hallway and staircase: Upstairs Well-lit, carpeted staircase with handrail up to:   Landing At the top of the stairs is a light-oak desk positioned so that you can look out over the back garden and Williamstrip Estate. You’ll find two double power points, making this an ideal spot for connecting devices, working on a laptop, reading or relaxing. Off the landing: Bedroom One Overlooking the front of the house is the king-size, master bedroom, with its relaxing tonal hues and moss green accent. The light-oak bedframe is complemented by an oak headboard, large, 3-door wardrobe (with plenty of covered hangers), bedside chest of drawers and lamps, and a dressing table (with hairdryer), stool and mirror. In addition, the room has dimmable lighting, a long mirror and plenty of space for a baby’s travel cot. You’ll also find an original 1930’s fitted cupboard housing the water heater and immersion tank (please do not adjust settings). The large window, with its wide windowsills, provides a beautiful frame for views of Coln St Aldwyns and the valley beyond. Back to top of stairs and right to: Bedroom Two A pretty and bright, dual-aspect twin bedroom with beautiful views over the cottage’s front and rear gardens and out towards the wider Cotswold countryside. This twin room has two sink-in single beds, a large, 2-door, oak wardrobe (with covered hangers) and an oak dressing table with stool and mirror. With accents of refreshing duck-egg blue, and a gorgeous picture of a hare looking down over the beds, this room is a delightful second bedroom that couples or children will enjoy. Back to top of stairs and left to: Family Bathroom The cottage’s family bathroom is at the rear of the house, next to Bedroom 1, yet still convenient for Bedroom 2. Polished limestone tiling, wood-effect flooring and a window to the rear (with Venetian-style blind for privacy) creates a spa-like space to relax in. With a large, walk-in Grohe shower, full-size bath with mixer taps, heated towel rail, a sink with large mirror and dual-flush toilet, plus a small selection of toiletries, there’s everything here you’ll need for your stay. Outside Meadow View is framed by a lawn area to its front and large private garden to its rear, affording it a wonderful feeling of privacy. A wooden fence separates Meadow View from the neighbouring Meadow View 2. To the side of the cottage is a secure wooden gate leading to a gravel and concrete path around the back of the house. It’s in the back garden where the cottages’ magic really comes alive, thanks to the meadow of the adjoining Williamstrip Park, making the garden feel larger than it is thanks to the adjacent, sweeping countryside views. The cottage has patio area outside the dining room’s French windows, with BBQ and garden table and chairs for 6 (available from late March 2019), making it perfect for al fresco dining and relaxing after a day exploring the Cotswolds. Next to the patio area is a garden storeroom, suitable for a couple of bikes/a pushchair and walking gear. (Note: there is an oil tank at the back of the garden, concealed with wicker fencing. Please do not allow children to play near the tank.)
One of the undiscovered Cotswold villages, Coln St Aldwyns will delight anyone who wants to be immersed in the Cotswold countryside, have a memorable Cotswold experience, yet avoid the hustle and bustle of the Cotswolds’ tourist hot spots. As with most Cotswold villages, Coln (as the locals call it) is steeped in history, with a perfectly maintained, 13th-century Norman church and 17th-century coaching inn, the New Inn (due to open early Spring 2019). As you stroll around the village, you’ll find endless photo opportunities to capture beautiful, honey-coloured, Cotswold limestone cottages backed by pastoral, rolling countryside. Meadow View is an immaculately decorated and maintained, bright and airy cottage, with lots of pretty windows affording views on all sides, sweeping across the Williamstrip and Hatherop Estates - acres of meadow, parkland and farmland - and the undulating Coln Valley and rushing waters of the River Coln. Step out of the front door and you’re straight into miles and miles of walking, including an idyllic 4- or 6-mile route to Bibury (famed for its Arlington Row cottages, possibly the most photographed tourist location in the Cotswolds!), where you can have a bite to eat at The Swan, The Catherine Wheel or in the café at Bibury Trout Farm. If you’re staying with little ones, simply cross the road to a safe, secure and immaculate adventure playground, complete with picnic tables and benches. Then wander downhill to the River Coln, flanked by rolling hills that are home to flocks of sheep and herds of cows – a truly bucolic scene. If you’re lucky enough to catch a sunset, it’ll be one of the most beautiful you’re ever likely to see! Head back up the road to the Coln Community Shop for a cuppa and a slice of some of the tastiest cake in the Cotswolds! At the end of your day exploring the Cotswolds, return to Meadow View and Coln St Aldwyns, far from the madding crowds, with easy parking, peace and quiet and an immaculate and cosy home-from-home.

A light and welcoming cottage with a pretty garden located in the heart of the village of Aldsworth overlooking gardens to the front and open countryside to the rear. Aldsworth is located between Bibury, Burford, Northleach and Cirencester so is an excellent base to explore the towns, villages and countryside of the Cotswolds. There is a traditional village pub a couple of minutes walk from the house and a good network of footpaths leading to the surrounding villages.
Aldsworth is a peaceful village and we are fortunate to have excellent, considerate neighbours. However, the village pub, the Sherborne Arms, is a buzzy place and well frequented by locals and visitors. There is also a yoga class on a Monday evening in the village hall and a pretty church with regular services. There are a number of excellent gastro-pubs, a wine bar and cafes within 10 minutes drive of the house and we can give more information when booking. There are some lovely riverside walks at the National Trust’s Sherborne Estate, and at Coln St Aldwyn and Bibury - all within 3 miles of the house.
