“My go-to mountain biking trail close to Denver. Try to avoid the heat of midday as there's not much shade. Easily combined with New Terrain Brewery for a good time. ”

History Museum
“Buffalo Bill's Grave offers a stunning view of Denver and the eastern plains. The museum shows Wild Bill's old saddles, clothing, movies, memorabilia, the gravesite and gift shop along with fudge. Over 1/2 million people visit annually. Also, Coors Brewing Company offers tours in downtown Golden, CO. And, the Bettcher Mansion on Lookout Mountain offers a tour of the mansion and a nature shop right next to it. Tons of bicycling in the area and hiking trails. We have hiking trails leading up the mountain from our back yard. ”

“This outdoor museum is literally right across the street! It is a park like setting with historic buildings from various places in Colorado. You can wander around and see a schoolhouse, miner's home, chicken coop, etc. And it's FREE!”

Rio
“Clear Creek White Water Park is an innovative and fun water park that gives you the chance to practice your kayaking skills as you make your way through three levels of rapids. If you're not into kayaking, you can enjoy the ride on a tube – it is easy to avoid the more hectic rapids if you stick to the middle part of the course, which is a broad section with flatter eddies. The third section is probably the most exciting and features more extreme rapids and drops. There is no fee to come and enjoy an afternoon of fun in the park and there is plenty of free parking ”

“Great trail system right in Golden, climb up to the classic rock outcropping looking over town. Little bit of a climb to get to the top of the mesa but then flat once you're up there. ”

“Great for sightseeing and green park to relax near. The clear creek river is right there. There is a walk-bike path, in the heart of town, and lots of folks kayaking, walking, biking, etc. You also go to the Golden Hotel and sit on the deck in the summer with a view of the river. One of my favorite summer spots”
