The Viewing Platform is a jewel of the Conservation Area and offers spectacular views of the Provincially Significant McLaren Marsh. A series of puncheons (boardwalks) have also been constructed and installed along portions of the Woodland Loop and Rabbit Hollow Trail.”

Port Perry has a cute main street with local restaurants and festivals. Amazing ice cream shops to. Checkout the local library art gallery for free that showcases local artists work. You may find an art piece you want to purchase there. ”

“Dahl Forest The Dahl Forest is approximately 500 acres and straddles 2.7 km of the Burnt River in Haliburton County 5 km south of Gelert. The ecological significance of the Dahl Forest is evident in the diversity of species and habitats found on the property. Location and Trails The Dahl Forest is located at 1307 Geeza Rd, off of Gelert Rd/County Rd 1 just 5 km south of Gelert. It is 20-25 minutes South of Haliburton or 15-20 minutes East of Minden. “KB Equestrian (Kristin Brophy) is on site, operating the horse barn and riding arena. Kristin welcomes our guests to visit the barn to view the horses and riders. If you wish to book time ahead for for horseback riding during your stay, please let us know and we'll connect you with Kristin. Fees per person per hour for horseback riding are: $50 for a private hour, $45 for semi-private (up to 3) and $40 for a group (4 or more). Kristin is an accomplished horse woman, and offers programming beyond horseback riding if you wish, to learn more about horses and their care, and even learn some cowboy skills, including how to throw a lasso!”
