“Located in the crumbling streets of the up-and-coming Charoenkrung area, this restored shop-house has plenty of raw appeal, emphasized with mood lighting and simple wooden tables. Here, you'll find potent cocktails mixed with Thai fruits, herbs and spices. There's also a good line of home-infused ya dong (Thai herbal whiskey) as well as a kitchen specializing in Thai tapas (as well as a few classics like pad Thai). Come nightfall, enjoy your meal while Thai musicians take the stage to play traditional music from the Central region”

“Wat Traimit is famous because it houses the world’s largest giant golden Buddha statue, 10 feet high and weighing 5 ½ tons and is made of 18 karats pure gold, estimated to be worth $250 million. This Buddha statue have a quite a legend, it survived Burmese invasion, was kept hidden in plaster of Paris for most of the century, then finally made its way from Ayutthaya to Bangkok. It is said to have been moved in 1801, when King Rama 1 ordered all statues depicting Lord Buddha to be moved to Bangkok.”

“China town (Yaowarat) is a district of the Thai-Chinese community, the oldest part of Bangkok, a popular tourist attraction and a Thai- Chinese food haven. It is packed with market stalls and street-side restaurants. There are many more intersting stalls and restaurants to visit in Yaowarat. Prices : As Yaowarat is a food street. The prices vary depending on each stall, however, it is very reasonable. Hours : This street never sleep!!! It opens 24 hours, daily, but best for street eating in the evenings after sunset. How to Get There : Take MRT subway to Hua Lamphong MRT station. The station is not close to Chinatown. From the station you have to walk for 10-15 minutes or take a taxi.”
