“Riverside Park is a beautiful stretch of the Mississippi River in La Crosse. Starting on the north end of the park, stop in the Explore La Crosse offices to see what other opportunities are in the area. The La Crosse Queen docks next to Explore La Crosse, and of course the Friendship Gardens are right there as well. Free concerts galore at the Riverside Park Band Shell, plus beautiful paddlewheel riverboats stop on their way to the Cities.”

“The Root Note offers a low-key place to get work done, read a book, or chat with friends. During the week they have a variety of events including jazz nights, open mics, music performances, and trivia. This is a great place to go for crepes, coffee, and work or drinks and fun!”

“Great place to pick up organic and natural foods. They have a huge bulk area where you can purchase the exact amount you want of any item. They have a fantastic deli and a fancier restaurant on the second floor. June through October on Fridays there is a farmers market from 4-7 pm just across the street from the co-op.”

“You can see three states from the top of the bluff, local favorite and for those that are first time visitors. There is something about being at the top of the bluff looking over the river valley below. ”

“La Crosse's original coffeehouse!!! Great coffee, excellent scones, and soups (mushroom bisque is my fav) made in house. This coffee house even makes their own Italian syrups. As an added bonus, it is attached to Pearl St. Books, a used book store. Books and coffee- always a great pairing! ”

“The rooftop bar at the Charmant downtown is stunning. You have a full view of the bluff-line and the cocktails are high quality, like the view. They serve a limited food menu that includes to-die-for woodfired pizzas. ”

“This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in La Crosse. They do a wonderful job with sauces- love the Queso Crema Chicken. Unfortunately, their seating area is tiny. Often, we will call in our order and enjoy it at home. ”
