Miami: parques e natureza

Parque
“Crandon Beach is one of Miami's greatest park treasures. A beautiful, sprawling campus of beaches and amenities, Crandon Park is more than a beach. At Crandon Park Beach on Key Biscayne, there's a Family Amusement Center, a Nature Center and even a place to rent cabanas. The beach remains the main attraction at the luscious and family-friendly Crandon Park. Gear up for a friendly game of beach volleyball or unpack your picnic and bring some supplies for the on-site grills. There's almost always a birthday party or event taking place somewhere at this site. At the south end of Crandon Park Beach, there are cabanas for rent. Cabanas have showers and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Cabana renters are assigned a parking space and exclusive picnic tables on the beach. It's fun to explore the various ecosystems at Crandon Park, including dunes, mangroves, coastal hammock and sea grass beds. The Crandon Park Nature Center is home to exotic plants, rare fish and wildlife, and Bear Cut Preserve, a natural Environment Study Area. Take a tour with a naturalist and explore all that this nature hotbed has to offer.”

“Located on Calle Ocho, Cuban Memorial Boulevard pays homage to Cuban soldiers who fought in the 1961 Bay of Pigs Invasion and the Cuban War of Independence. You’ll find a string of seven small monuments scattered throughout this stretch of road, including those honoring Cuban independence fighter Antonio Maceo Grajales and anti-communist crusader Tony Izquierdo. Additionally, check out the statues of the Virgin Mary and a 16-foot raised map of the island of Cuba with an inscription by patriot José Martí that reads, "La patria es agonia y deber,” which ttranslates to “The homeland is agony and duty."”

“Relaxing place to walk around, truly green and beautiful as you can watch dogs run around. There are some good restaurants with outdoor tables depending on time of day (check beforehand to see if they're open if that's important to you).”

“Located in an area known as “the Old Jimbo’s Lagoon,” named for a salty character who lived in old movie sets, and sold homemade smoked fish and cheap beer until he was too ill to live on his own. In the lagoon, you’ll find stingrays, pufferfish, mullet, and sometimes even one (or several) manatees. If you paddle just outside of the lagoon and look to your left, you’ll see a beach that was restored to a living shoreline by the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science’s volunteer-led habitat restoration program (which I used to run :) ). Just past the beach is an area that my family and I call “The Secret Garden.” Depending on the tide, you can either paddle or walk through the inlet, and you’ll find a beautiful mangrove forest awaiting you! ”

“Great for the kids. Soccer every Saturday is fun and they've got a playground. It's also got football under floodlights and stands. It's a spacious park to be in.. even after the hurricane, it has an expected amount of choices in the playground area. The park is very clean, is well illuminated and has everything you need to have a game or host a tournament. There are restrooms and a playground for children. ”
