State / Provincial Park
“My personal favorite and preference. I’ve been hiking at Radnor Lake every Fall for 28 years and each time is like the very first. A stunning view of the lake with spectacular views along every trail...and there are a lot of trails to choose from. Please visit and take home from frame-worthy photos!”

“This picture does NOT do the park justice. Please walk down and explore it on a beautiful day. At any given time, you may randomly see historical reenactments like old time baseball games (in full costume), civil war exhibits / reenactments, and live music. Little ones will enjoy the splashpad on the far side of the park (bring a suit or change of clothes). Just past the splashpad is a giant stone map of Tennessee, easy to overlook under your feet as you walk towards James Robertson Pkwy. We frequently sit on the lawn with a picnic lunch or dinner - the view of the capital building is amazing! The granite walls all along the outside of the park tell Tennessee's history in digestible snippets. Visit the WWII memorial and find all the places you've visited on the giant rotating globe. Let the kids do their own play in the old world style amphitheater - or catch whatever show is happening!”

“This is one of the closest local parks. It features really nice rolling hills, picnic areas (with pavilions), and a fairly empty disc golf course. Its low key place to relax, if you don't feel like heading into the city.”

“This is a beautiful park with access to the water and multiple great hiking paths. I love the Couchville Lake loop trail and also the Volunteer Trail Loop. Couchville Lake Loop is an easy, feat, paved walk while the the Volunteer is more moderate with elevation changes, some rocky areas and great views of Perch Priest Lake. ”

“This park is home to a mystical Dragon made of tiles! He awaits for young children to visit him.....and when they do visit him, he makes sure they have a wonderful time! The dragon statue is super fun, durable, and great for children who love to climb! They also have a huge play set and a tunnel! It's fun for all ages!”
