Couples ready to relax or travelling singles. Pet friendly North Woods Bed and Breakfast in Hot Springs is located on the north end of town and we have four rooms open in a quiet neighborhood.
This Western Lodge Room on the second floor features a queen size bed with down comfort pad. (The other three rooms have two king size beds and one queen size bed.) We have gone all out for our guests in the comfort features.
Free breakfast every day. The dining room has a small fridge with cold drinks and water and a little space for take home heating. It also has lots of snacks and with beverages. Coffee, tea and bottled water and sodas.
This Western style room features cowboy hats, a lariat, boots, western pictures, shelves with western collectibles and faux cowhide accessories. If you have a pet, there is plenty of room to romp in the front yard.
The western style bath is new and beautiful with a large tub and shower and double sinks. I have provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, hand mirror, and hair dryer.
In addition to the large TV in the living room you have a TV in your room and we have WIFI with password required that I will give you.
The fan overhead and air conditioning in each room and heat thermostat in the hallway make you quite comfortable. There will be an ironing board and iron in the hallway for your use. You have your own key to the front door and your room when you arrive. Children are welcome.
Make an appointment at one of the bathhouses. Two bathhouses downtown are open, the Buckstaff and the Quapaw. The Quapaw Bathhouse is amazingly appealing in many ways. Call them for an appointment for a wonderful bathing experience and massage. An appointment ahead of time would be advantageous. They have various offerings to choose from. For one, there is a pool that you can swim in and a cafe with sandwiches, salads, and tea, beer, wine if you like. My guests really like to recommend it.
This home has quite a history as it was once a gaming house at the turn of the century. As you arrive you will go through the stone entrance and enter the iron gates. Notice the long driveway toward the two-story traditional country manor house. On your left are large grounds full of enormous 118-year-old trees.
When you arrive at the house there is a stone wall showing you where to park by the arch. Pull up to the sidewalk and unload. A stone walkway starting with an archway entrance leads you to the lovely front porch and the front entrance. Be sure to enjoy the large front porch later.
When you open the door you enter the foyer and there is a large sunken living room on the left. We personally designed the stone fireplace with native stone in the living room when we purchased the property.. We use the fireplace on cold nights. This main room has access to comfortable seating with a TV with a piano in the corner and a game table and games.
Also, from the foyer on the right a large dining room greets you with a large handmade hutch and a large handmade trestle farmers dining table that was specifically designed to fit the size of the room. It was built by a local craftsman. This room makes a lovely space for any occasion. This is where you will serve yourself snacks and beverages. Microwave and fridge. You can make your own favorite flavored Keurig coffee, tea etc.
If you have a pet the large front yard is a perfect place for many walks. Photographers would love to book our front yard because of the natural backgrounds and fence, stone walls, walkway, and covered wagon.
There is an information book in your room that I put together. There is information about hiking and a map if you are more interested in hiking and parks. There is a list of places to swim. There is also a list of restaurants with addresses and phone numbers. There is lots to do in Hot Springs.
Two minutes down a winding road to Gulpha Gorge National Park camp ground and recreation area is a delightful picnic site. If it's thrills you seek, (summer facility) Magic Springs Amusement Park is just a 5 minute drive from your door, and it's 22 minutes to the swimming and sailing on the sparkling lakes. You can also rent a boat on Lake Hamilton on Hwy. 7 South. If you are interested in a wedding you can use the huge front yard for a fee. It is where my two daughters had their wedding celebrations.
Lots of activities nearby from the Mid America Museum, to crystal mines, and the magic show. Oak lawn Racetrack and Casino are on hwy 7 as well. We hope you enjoy your stay and tell your friends.
We live in a quiet neighborhood. The houses are spaced far apart but we are located on a main thoroughfare (7 North) that is far from our house. No traffic noises. There is a National Park Forest behind our house that allows no trespassing that goes on for miles. The Belvedere Country Club golf course is about 500 yards from our house further north on Hwy 7. There is a Family Dollar Store for simple groceries and gas stations not far toward town. At night you can hear the crickets and catch fireflies. The deer come by every night and try to eat our flowers.
