“The neighborhood is surrounded by National Forest. Walk a couple hundred yards to and up Bear Springs Rd into the peaceful and beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. Walk up to the right to get to the water tower and look towards Lake Arrowhead. Walk up and to the left and make your way up to Strawberry Peak ridge and see all of SoCal!! Amazing sunsets. Easy walk for children but please beware people drive fast on Bear Springs road. And you are at altitude. ”

“Hike to a 60' waterfall! Be sure to wear a swim suit under your clothes. Note there may not be water late by summer. Tahquitz Canyon is one of the most beautiful and culturally sensitive areas of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians Reservation. Tahquitz Canyon is home to a spectacular seasonal 60-foot waterfall, rock art, ancient irrigation systems, native wildlife, and plants. Located at the entrance to the canyon, the Tahquitz Canyon Visitor Center offers educational and cultural exhibits. The Center offers a display of artifacts, an observation deck, and a theater room for viewing The Legend of Tahquitz Canyon. Located in S. Palm Springs, plan 45 minutes to an hour to get there. There is a fee to enter the indian reservation. Wear a hat and sunscreen and take plenty of water! Hike on your own or join a Ranger led hike. Check the Web site for schedules.”

“Amazing hike that you don't want to miss! The waterfall is magical and a nice reward for the ~40 min hike. The hike is easy and for all ages. Hikers need to check-in at the visitor center, children under 3 are free, adult tickets are a bit pricey. Bring water and a sun hat.”

“A nice fenced-in, grass dog park. It isn't big enough to handle the huge number of dogs (and owners) that use it, but it's a nice facility. Filled with tourists and locals.”
