“Message from the Business: "A Japanese Garden is a concentration of natural beauty, instilled within the confines of an enclosed space. It is not a "park" in our western sense, but rather where visitors may quietly reflect and seek harmony with the natural world and within themselves, a tradition that is centuries old. Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix provides a peaceful oasis to visitors with unique elements that symbolize many aspects of Japanese culture and philosophy, including stone footbridges, lanterns, sculptures, a cobblestone beach, waterfall, stream, tea house, and koi pond."”

Mountain
“This is a super easy hike with even better reward. Best ROI from any hike on my guidebook. 0.3 mile out and back 32 foot elevation gain This is located in Papago Park and you can see the Phoenix zoo from here. If you have people in your group that aren't ready to take on Camelback Mountain, you can still come here to appreciate the red rock and interesting rock formations that Arizona is known for. This is very close to the Phoenix Botanical Gardens and the Phoenix Zoo, so a great place for a quick stop before or after you go to either of these venues.”

“A short walk to the tunnel will take you under Hwy 51 and out to the trails. Just go left on Dreamy Draw Rd (at the end of Frier Dr) and go about three blocks to the trailhead on the right. Or... if tunnels creep you out... go another block and you will come to a bridge on the right which will take you over the highway and to the paved sidewalk leading to the trailhead. Surrounding the base of 2,608-foot Piestewa Peak, Phoenix Mountains Park and Recreation Area, and Dreamy Draw Recreation Area are gateways into diverse desert landscapes that offer everything from fantastic views to secluded valleys. Those trailheads boast dozens of miles of trails. ”
