Parque
“Perfect for exploring, camping, pedaling, walking and stopping to take advantage of the spectacular viewpoints and trails without losing sight of the birds. The most important green extension of the urban area, and very popular among its inhabitants, goes up to the eastern edge of Quito and offers breathtaking views of the Cumbayá Valley. It consists of four sectors: parking and playgrounds; the eucalyptus forest; an area without trees, with large-scale sculptural installations; and picnic areas. Visitors enjoy its many hiking and cycling routes, home of the handsome Carpenter Dorsiescarlata and other birds.”

“Stunning views of the city! If you are a animal lover like we are. Make sure you pick up some bread at a bakery or any food to feed the homeless doggies that roam around this area. You might be the only one feeding them in Days! They will love it and I will be forever Grateful. This tip pretty much is for every place you visit in Ecuador. We have an epidemic of strays that need homes, love and food. ”

“Climb the Steps to Itchimbía for Views and the Crystal Palace It's a healthy climb up the many flights of stairs on the eastern side of Quito’s Old Town to reach the area known as Itchimbía. Itchimbía is where that big orange Quito sign makes for great photo ops overlooking the city. So after catching your breath from climbing the stairs, go check out the sign and pose for a selfie. Itchimbia is also home to Quito’s Crystal Palace. This massive structure of iron flanked with glass walls was shipped over from Germany over 100 years ago. It's said to resemble the Las Halles market in Paris, and as such, has served as a market itself. Visit some cafes in the area like Cafe Mosaico or Vista Hermosa and, there view is incredible and don't forget to drink hot chocolate with cheese”
