“Don't stop driving until you reach the park. Great for biking. North entrance bike accessible, south you can carry your bike up some flights.”

“Like Portlandia, except without the reciprocal tolerance. Its literally about a dozen blocks on one street, everything else is housing; so just stay on Cary Street. Mostly junk (vintage) clothing, a few good restaurants. I always wonder why no panhandling in the adjacent neighborhoods that are 3+million/home. So odd. But on Cary, just a ninja stars throw away, panhandlers thick as thieves. ”

“BEST MOVIE THEATER EVER. Second-run movies in Carytown for $4. Sit in the middle for better seats. This is a landmark movie palace. This place is insanely awesome.”

“Hollywood Cemetery, perched above the James River, is a beautiful sacred site. Going for a stroll is a peaceful and refreshing experience and visiting President's Circle, where Presidents James Monroe and John Tyler are buried, is a worthy experience. ”

“Once upon a mid-night dreary ... Before you go, pick up a copy of Silverman's biography of Edgar Allan Poe ( or read the first few pages of the beside copy in our studio). You won't put it down and you won't miss the Poe Museum. In fair weather, don't miss the Poe Museum's weekly ":Unhappy Hour" on Thursdays for drinks in their ancient, eerily enchanting boxwood courtyard. The Poe museum collection is housed in the oldest residential property in Richmond, a charm of great gray stones, mortar, and slate. ”

“The original location of this Richmond favorite is located in a repurposed gas station, across the street from a few cute clothing and vintage shops. Great coffee and a diverse menu of sandwiches. Definitely a hipster magnet and quite a scene--good people watching and lots of outdoor seating. For quieter workspace (but no menu), check out the Summit Street location in Scott's Addition; the Morris Street location near VCU has more indoor seating and a full menu.”
