This quirky wooden stand alone space comprises a double bed and is ideal for two people but can sleep four as there is a large double sofa bed. Situate in the heart of Devon, the flat has a kitchenette, combined living and sleeping area and a separate toilet and shower. The flat is reached via stairs and is unsuitable for people with mobility issues. There is a TV, DVD player and music system but the internet is at best weak. This space is non smoking. Garden furniture, toys are available .
A well equipped welcome hamper will set you on your way to a relaxed and hassle free holiday. We are on hand to accommodate any special requirements you may have to the best of our abilities.
The situation of the apartment is ideal for a variety of excursions. Haldon is within walking distance and offers climbing ( go ape ), cycling and walking trails. Haldon stables are just up the road and the sea is twenty minutes drive away as is the city of Exeter. The Lord Haldon Hotel , Haldon fishing, Haldon Belvedere Tower and the famous pub The Nobody Inn are all a few minutes drive away.

A spacious top floor apartment in one of Exeter's finest Victorian villa's, close to the city centre, 20 minutes walk to the university and only 10 minutes from the RD and E hospital. Access is through the front door of the main house and up two flights of stairs. It provides comfortable self contained accommodation and unique views over Exeter in two directions. Exceptionally quiet, almost as if you are in the countryside. The bedroom overlooks the beautiful rear garden.
The apartment is newly renovated and featured original exposed beams and fine period windows, in a relaxed seating area and there is a large desk if you have to work or study. If you are musical, you may like the piano keyboard, which you are welcome to use. The kitchen includes a microwave toaster and kettle, but no hob so fine, unless you want to get on 'Master Chef'.

    7 minutes walk to City Centre/ University Campus. A wonderful spot right in the centre of Exeter. It’s a charming “tiny house” which is completely independent of the main house with its own parking spot. The upstairs bedroom/living area is delightful - you look out onto the garden on all sides. It’s a very quiet location but only a few minutes stroll to the university, city centre, cathedral and canal. Reclaimed wooden floors throughout and a super comfortable double bed.
    Full of character and charm, painted in Farrow and Ball grays, vintage leather sofa, shag pile rug, reclaimed wooden pine floorboards. Microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, shower etc. all brand new and very smart. Please note that there is restricted access on one side of the bed. Toilet is on different level to bedroom and stairs are steep and made of wood so suitable for the fit and agile only.Sloping ceilings and restricted ceiling height.
    The street is very special as most of the houses were designed by the same architect and built around 1920. All the houses have front gardens with shrubs and trees so despite the central location you hear the birds singing in the morning. Getting around 5 minutes walk from John Lewis and University campus. 20 minute walk to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. 5 -10 minutes walk from Vue Cinema and Restaurants 10 minutes from Law Court 10 minutes walk from Central station and Bus Station. 10 minutes taxi ride or 20 minutes walk from Exeter Saint David's station 10 minutes walk from outdoor pool

Obviamente, foi tomado muito cuidado e atenção no refurb e, apesar de compacto, não é muito pequeno (para mim, e eu tenho mais de 15 anos); a sensação leve e arejada e o jardim adjacente o tornam realmente relaxante. Obrigado Ginny por a maneira como as coisas foram feitas e a excelente hospitalidade.

  • Ecoando todas as críticas positivas abaixo: localização excelente (a uma curta distância da Uni e do centro da cidade, em uma área residencial tranquila), anfitrião maravilhosamente útil que é muito acessível e fácil de alcançar, lindo jardim e loft extremamente limpo e aconchegante com vista para o jardim! Não recomendaria o loft para pessoas com mobilidade reduzida, pois as escadas são bastante íngremes. Utilizações de materiais de excelente qualidade na reforma: colchão, toalhas, roupas de cama, amenidades, ... Grande atenção aos detalhes. Eu recomendo o loft de Ginny e vai voltar!

    An airy double bedroom with a large window looking over the garden, two french beds, a set of draws, hanging space, and a table and 2 chairs. Good quality comfy mattresses and pillows all covered in protectors. The room also has a mini fridge, kettle, toaster, and a complimentary cup of tea and coffee upon arrival. For longer term stays I offer a washing and drying clothes service for £10 per load.
    Guests can only use their room and the bathroom and the pink patio in the summer. Everywhere else is strictly prohibited.
    The bungalow is a ten minute walk from the main Torquay seafront beach, (Abbey Sands). The local Princess Theatre is close by, you can carry on walking to the harbour from here, where you will discover some nice restaurants including American, Vietnamese, Turkish, Indian, and Italian as well as English eateries, gift shops and others various retails outlets. Torquay has a mini mall called the Willows where you will find Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer’s, Boots, and Next, there is a petrol station here also. The Riviera Centre is a 5 minute drive away 15 walking, with a wave pool, baby pool, and a restaurant / cafe, and a soft play area for children under 10 - there are tennis courts and a mini golf course, plus a gym, jacuzzi and an aerobic studio. Torre Abbey is close by ( within 15 minutes walking distance) an ancient Abbey where monks lived dating back to the doomsday book, here you will be able to look around the Abbey and it’s gardens and enjoy the grounds, have delicious tea, cake and home made lunches in their cafe - they often have art exhibitions in their gallery (The Spanish Barn). In Paignton is the Vue Multiplex Cinema where all movies are £5 to watch with a restaurant and bar including lots of seaside shops to explore and a Geo Sand Play Park for children and toddlers ,( paignton is the next town along the coastal road from Torquay, just a short 20 minute bus or 10 minutes car journey away). If walking is your thing you can wander to your hearts content for many miles along the Torbay Coastal pathways or more specific walks and rambles including - The Watcombe- Maidencombe Circular 2 .1/2 miles (April) - The Brunel Woods stroll 1 mile or so (May) - The Hopes Nose Ramble 1 mile or so (June) - Cockington Manscombe Wood Circular 1 mile (June) - Bewhay Lane and Fruit Farms Copse 1. 1/2 miles (August) and more I have the details on the premises. About 11 miles away, a 35 minute car journey or 45 minute bus ride is the historic Saxon town Totnes - here you will discover a beautiful Town and unique market (every Friday and Saturday) with many vintage stalls and international street food vendors. Totnes is an alternative town with many attractions including its own museum, a multitude of mouth watering Vegan and Vegetarian cafes, bars, crystal shops, an amazing cafe with delicious home made cakes (Anne of Cleaves); Stunning designer, and bespoke clothes retailers, jewellery shops and its own mini castle, definitely a town to visit and enjoy a lovely day out. Cockington is a beautiful thatched village in Torquay with its own church ( in the doomsday book) and stunning grounds which a multitude of unique thatched properties, including lakes, woods, a Manor House and cafe, you can hire charming horse and carriage rides in the summer here and you will discover many bespoke artists work outlets to peruse; a favourite for anyone who loves nature, and walking in Cockington’s Manscombe woods (a mile or so ) and also Scadson freeride Park, a 13 acre woodland site. Torbay Hospital is a 5 minute drive away, Mount Stuart Hospital is just around the corner.

    Welcome to our stylish and very comfortable 2 bedroom (plus spacious mezzanine - with kingsize sofabed) holiday penthouse. We are located in the loft of the beautiful grade II listed water-driven corn mill, on the edge of the River Dart and opposite the working steam train station at Staverton, surrounded by lush rolling green countryside, the peaceful and romantic Dart estuary and breathtaking coastline with numerous beaches and towns are all within easy driving distance. Just idyllic!
    The penthouse is accessed by steps to the 2nd floor, with a small shared ground floor lobby for muddy boots etc. Once inside a hallway leads into the two bedrooms and family bathroom before opening up into the loft style living area, with open kitchen off. The comfortable space incorporates a dining table with benches, large comfortable sofas and a modern well equipped galley kitchen area containing microwave, hob, oven, washing machine and dishwasher. Wifi, a smart TV, DVD and a bluetooth speaker are all available for your enjoyment. The ensuite bathroom (shower & toilet) are off the bedroom with a daybed that can also be configured as twin beds or pushed together to form a superking double (with access from one side only - please see daybed in the photos). The second bedroom holds a very comfortable superking double and the mezzanine sofabed can be opened up to allow for a kingsize double bed (with additional mattress for comfort). Outside there is a communal decking area and access to a private 'beach' - a small area where to can access the River Dart for a swim, a paddle or even to go out on a canoe! Opposite the entrance to the Mill is the South Devon Steam Railway - with the quiet Staverton Station accessed through the level crossing. The mesmerising steam train comes through a few times a day (see timetables) and can be boarded to get to Totnes or Buckfastleigh - a throw back to the days of the Railway Children and a wonderful sight to behold through the juliet balcony of the apartment as the train whistles into the station. Parking is available for one car in our covered parking space, plus additional cars in either the free guest parking spaces , on the lane or across the railway line in the station car park. The attractive market town of Totnes is about 3 miles away, the shopping attraction and beautiful estate at Dartington is just over a mile away and destinations such at Dartmouth, the Torbay area, Dartmoor, Agatha Christie's residence at Greenaway House, Salcombe and many other places are all within easy driving distance - or you can just cycle, walk, run or hike out of the front door to enjoy the considerable local walks in the Staverton area. Just up the road in the village is a reputable pub for food and refreshment, or you can drive to the highly acclaimed Cott Inn pub and restaurant for a meal to impress (booking recommended!) All in all - out penthouse at Staverton Mill is a perfect base for your holiday in the South Hams. We know you will enjoy it as much as we do - it's our holiday place too!
    Staverton is a small village (just up the lane from the Mill) with a church and a pub! The Mill is located opposite the working steam train station and so a classic ride on a steam train will take you into Totnes or Buckfastleigh if you prefer this relaxed way of travel to car! Totnes and Dartington are the closest shopping destinations (under 3 miles away) and both have a charming selection of shops and cafe's. We especially love the Dart River Estuary for its serenity (excellent walks with superb views) or popping into Dartmouth or Salcombe for a shopping trip and a great walk.e

    Our cottage 'Samphire' nestles under the wings of St Mary's church.... This religious historic stone building,boasts her own clock tower,which solemnly chimes on the hour, calling worshippers to her door with a joyous peeling of bells, which may be heard from the cottage on Sunday mornings,and also Thursday evenings for local campanology practice. Ever drawing our community closer to her skirts. Set within the village square,she has brought locals together for hundreds of years. It has remained a site of religious calling since medieval times. 'Cow Town' Which Higher Brixham is fondly referred to as by the locals, sits on the edge of the more rural farming aspect of Brixham.This endearing 'term' dates back to the days when only a dirt track connected the two areas of the ancient town. 'Cow Town' is in actual fact the original,true Brixham. The road on which 'Samphire' sits became the ancient stagecoach highway,from the dirt track originally recorded. Our cottage boasts her own local history, once being an infamous pub to the local smugglers, but also providing shelter to would be travellers,on their way to the famous vessel the 'Mayflower' Taking pilgrims,sailing from Plymouth to the new world. Approaching our door, you will also note the unique 16th century solid oak beams reclaimed from a sailing vessel in the harbour,a maritime welcome to this cosy Artist's home. 'Cow Town' Twins herself with the close proximity of 'Fish Town' Which as the image suggests, describes the area of the harbour,with its jolly brightly painted cottages set into the steep rocks above.This creates a harbour bowl which surrounds the port,providing shelter & solace from the cruel winter seas. Resident hard working fishermen go about their tasks,creating a fantastic insight for you, the visitor,into the lives of local Devon people creating a living from the ocean. Some areas of the harbour even being reclaimed from the sea, as the fishing community grew in stature. It is said that there has been a settlement here since the domesday book. 'Samphire's' position provides our guests with an ever changing insight into both Brixham lifestyles enjoyed by the local people. Something that would be sadly missed by a visitor, if choosing to stay in the harbour. 'Cow Town' is where the local culture is to be seen & found. 'Samphire' sits on the edge of the green rolling hills of the South Hams. Just a short distance away. Coupled with the rugged Devon coastline.     Ranscombe House is over 250 years old and commands fantastic views over Brixham and Torbay. It has 8 newly refurbished ensuite bedrooms and is lucky to have 12 on site parking areas which is rare in Brixham.It also has a large garden with seating for over 24 and a BBQ area which can be used by guest for a small charge,Large lounge dinning room and a small 5/7 seater snug can also be used by guest ,in the basement is a bar/ games room.
    Aptly named as being at the top of the house this room and its cousin next door have the most fantastic views over Brixham and Torbay, the sun arrives early afternoon and sinks into the sea at night.this room has a king size bed with a super king size duvet, The bed like the carpet, linen and curtains are all brand new,A small annexe hides a single bed which leads onto the ensuite with bath and electric shower over. in this room like all the others are design gowns, towels, shampoo/soap, freeview TV, tea/coffee facilities, free WiFi, alarm clock and hair dryer. Prices are based on couples staying with a small supplement for extra guests.
    as you turn into Ranscombe House you have a huge elm tree and 12 parking spaces this will be your first view of this 250 year old grade 2 listed building with the entrance right in front of you.

    The apartment is a spacious and bright with a large windows and sky lights. It’s very old, there is even a section of medieval city wall within the building. The main bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom which includes an well pressured shower and bath. The second bedroom includes an full height arch window, velux and en-suite. The en-suite is compact with shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen and living areas are spacious, open plan with lots of light.
    Guest are free to enjoy the whole apartment.
    Northernhay street is a non through road so it’s surprisingly quite for it’s central location. At the top of the street you’ll find the central train station. To your left and guild hall restaurants to your right. In the other direction, walking for a few minutes up North street will take you to the cathedral and high street. Another 10 minutes onwards you can get to the historic quayside. Northernhay street is also situated alongside the Roman city wall. It’s possible to follow the wall for a circular route around the city.

The Methodist church has been bought by the community and is being transformed into a community art centre offering performances by world class musicians as well as exhibitions, yoga classes and other events.... Dartmoor with its granite tors and wild unspoilt wooded valleys is on the doorstep. The beach, Exeter and Plymouth all a half hour drive. Noss Mayo is a wonderful tucked away village close to Plymouth with houses tumbling down towards the estuary and several pubs to eat in, and coastal walks very close. Totnes is a 20 minute drive.
