Os melhores restaurantes

Restaurante Italiano
“Crossing the bridge of the Malvasia, you find yourself on the Fondamenta degli Ormesini: this long street beside the canal ["fondamenta"] has become a hot spot of Venetian night life in recent years. Here you will find a whole series of ethnic restaurants and, with its Venetian cuisine and live music, "Paradiso Perduto" is one of the most popular meeting places in the entire city.”

Café
“"The oldest and most popular coffeehouse in the world, right in Saint Mark's Square" The oldest coffeehouse in the world, the Florian was founded in Saint Mark’s square in 1720. Since its foundation, it has become a reference in Venice and in Europe, due to its innovations and its role as the Venetian meeting point for celebrities, artists, and luminaries from all over the world. Creator of the Biennale and first Cafe to have a permanent orchestra, “Caffè Florian” offers the possibility to grab a quick coffee, but it is known also for its a cocktail, breakfast or a full meal. Be aware this Caffè is very expensive, but it offers an amazing experience! Plunge into this unique atmosphere and breathe history, elegance, and beauty.”

“It's here where my family used to go to have a spritz (traditional venetian aperitif) properly made. Pastries, sweet and salty, are also worth having. The shop in Calle Fiubera have also tables to seat and the one in Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo have also tables outside. Calle Fiubera and Mercerie are a good stop on your way to San Marco.”

“If you want to try GOOD pastry you should go to DIDOVICH, my favorite bakery in Venice. It's located in Campo Santa Marina, not far from San Marco. They also do very tasty "pizzette" that is tiny pizzas made with savory puff pastry. If you are lucky enough to hang around here during Carnival then you MUST stop here and try the "frittelle", typical fried pastry that we only eat during this special time of the year (I love the plain one, but most of all the custard one is exceptional).”

“At first sight, “Nono Colussi” (literally Grandfather Colussi) shop seems like an ordinary bakery. In this historical place, biscuits and cakes are freshly baked daily since 1956. The reason to look for this spot is the typical Venetian “focaccia”. A soft and fluffy cake made with yeast base. Nono Colussi’s way to bake this sponge focaccia is the most famous in town and it’s worth the walk and the price (€ 17 for the small one) for tasting it. When I was a child, my aunt usually bought this delicious sweet focaccia for me and my sister. We used to enjoyed it, slice by slice in less than one day. While you are waiting for the package of your focaccia, you can try another amazing pastry baked by Nono Colussi. I really suggest the krapfen stuffed with cream: a real stairway to Heaven. Dorsoduro 2867a, calle lunga San Barnaba, Venice, Italy ”
