Viena: os melhores parques

“Visiting the Prater, a large natural park between the Danube and the Danube Canal, is a little like stepping into another world. Covering an area of 3,200 acres, this vast park - once a royal hunting ground - has long been one of Vienna's most popular recreation areas. There's something here for everyone, from thrills and spills in the Wurstel area with its old-fashioned theme park rides to dining and dancing (there's even a dinosaur park for the kids). A highlight is taking a ride on the famous Giant Wheel, a Viennese landmark that has provided fine views over the city since 1896 (if you can afford it, go for the super luxurious cabin, suitable for parties of up to 12). Other park highlights include the Prater Ziehrer Monument, a larger-than-life statue of composer CM Ziehrer built in 1960; the Prater Museum with its displays documenting the park's history; a Planetarium; and the Liliputbahn miniature steam railroad traversing a four-kilometer line near the main avenue. Elsewhere in this vast park there's room enough for horseback riding, swimming in the stadium pool, football, cycling, tennis, and bowls. Also worth visiting is nearby Danube Park (Donaupark), a 250-acre open space that's home to a fun miniature railroad, an artificial lake (Lake Iris), and a theater.”

“Close to Hofburg and Heldenplatz it is one of the most beautiful parks in Vienna. You will find more than 200 different roses and when they are blooming the smell is incredibly nice. It's also nice for a short morning run as it is close to the appartement.”

“Beautiful, not so big park in the heart of the nobel Döbling with its villas and quiet life of expensive suburbs. Very easy to get there with bus 10A . There is a small restaurant there too. Locals love it, it is very authentic. Is on the way to the Grinzing, Kahlenberg, but closer. ”

“The Stadtpark (City Park) in Vienna, Austria is a large municipal park that extends from the Ringstraße in the Innere Stadt first district up to the Heumarkt (Hay Market) in the Landstraße third district. The park is divided in two sections by the Wienfluss (Vienna River), and has a total surface area of 65,000 square metres (28 acres). Scattered throughout the park are statues of famous Viennese artists, writers, and composers, including Hans Canon, Emil Jakob Schindler, Johann Strauss II, Franz Schubert, and Anton Bruckner. The opulent Kursalon building on Johannesgasse, with its broad terrace that reaches into the park, is the site of popular waltz concerts.”

“In the oak-filled woodland of Lainzer Tiergarten, you’ll find snuffling wild boars, giant-horned goats, mischievous squirrels and serene deer freely roaming the grassy meadows and mossy forest floors. The gardens’ walking trails and wide open heaths are framed with fragrant cherry trees and the humming drill of woodpeckers in the warmer months. Come winter, cross-country skiing and near-silent restorative treks across snow-encrusted trails are possible. Hidden within the former hunting ground is Princess Sisi’s Hermesvilla, a marble mini-palace famously gifted to her by Franz Joseph I in 1881. Stop in for a queenly coffee and cake on the terrace.”

“Topped by Otto Wagner’s glimmering art-nouveau church, Steinhofgründe is the most underrated of Vienna’s city parks. Sauntering along its pebbled paths, past wild raspberry and blackberry bushes, you’re just as likely to come across kite-flying adults as you are children clambering over huge forest playgrounds built entirely from natural materials. Old oaks and ageing apple trees create calming arbours, complete with wooden picnic tables. For the best views over the city, seek out the hand-carved sun loungers and allow the countryside to work its unwinding magic.”

Paisagem incrível
“This 99-hectare (245-acre) park, in the 22nd District between the Danube Canal and the Alte Donau (Old Danube), was converted in 1964 from a garbage dump to a park with flowers, shrubs, and walks, as well as a bird sanctuary. You'll find a bee house, an aviary with native and exotic birds, a small-animal paddock, a horse-riding course, playgrounds, and games. An outstanding feature of the park is the Donauturm (Danube Tower), a 253m (830-ft.) tower with two rotating cafe-restaurants from which you have a panoramic view of Vienna.”
