Local Histórico
“Villa Ephrussi from the Belle Epoque period is one of the true jewels of the Côte d'Azur. The villa was built in 1912 for Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild. The Baroness filled the mansion with antique furniture, paintings, sculptures, and an extensive collection of rare porcelain. There are nine gardens on the estate, each in a different style. They are classified by the French Ministry of Culture as the Notable Gardens of France. The villa is also the location of the annual summer Opera Azuriales festival. “Situated right next to the charming old port area, and just a few minutes walk from the old town, the beaches of Villefranche-sur-Mer are some of the locals’ favorites. Unlike most other Riviera coastal towns, there are no private beaches here and the entire beachfront is free and open to the public. Marinières is one of the Riviera's best beaches. It is especially popular with families: the small bay is protected by rocks on either side, making it easy to keep an eye on small children. The beaches are surrounded by luxurious villas like Keith Richards’ old mansion and the Villa des Cedres, where King Leopold II of Belgium used to spend his summers. Driving distance from Cabris: 1 hour ”
