In 2009 when the San Julian family moved to Cape Town from Mexico, they planned to stay in South Africa for a year and the 2010 football world cup. They missed authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurants they found were Tex-Mex, not bad, not the real deal.
The San Julians proceeded to open an unpretentious restaurant in Cape Town for the World Cup. Their reputation spread and they are still here, to date, the only Mexican family run restaurant in South Africa.

Is is the old hunting lodge of Lord Milner, set in a beautiful forest, overlooking Camps Bay. Breakfast is served outside, under large umbrellas. Other meals are pricey but excellent.

A degree less noisy than Long street two lower, chilled, many bars and eateries. Easy down-hill walk down from Heron House. Back is always going to be more difficult on foot.
At the top, cocktail bar Orphanage donates 10% to St Frances; Seabreeze functions as a pop-up oyster bar at the moment, permanent from April 2017 - Excellent affordable west coast oysters and champagne by the glass; Arcade does dance tunes; ... to be continued
